'Zazz' ordered to report to the police
PHILIPSBURG - Police have identified the reckless motorcyclist captured on video meandering dangerously through traffic on A.J.C. Brewers Road about a week ago. The French resident, who calls himself 'Zazz', is ordered to report to the police station in Philipsburg and pay his fine.
The St Maarten Police Force (KPSM) is in possession of several other online videos of Zazz and groups of other riders performing similar stunts at various locations on the Dutch side of the island. Zazz risks arrest if spotted by the police. That also applies to the other reckless bikers.
Zazz was identified with the help of the public after a call by KPSM. “Road safety is paramount to save and safeguard lives. KPSM thanks members of the community who are vigilant and who report infractions.”
Mixed Martial Artist Leah-Nidas vacationing in St. Maarten
PHILIPSBURG - Before starting a three-month training course to hopefully rejoin the ring in the fall, Leah ‘Nidas’ Letson enjoys a week's vacation in St. Maarten with her boyfriend. This afternoon the couple was at Walter Plantz Square, at House of Eden SXM, and tasted Guavaberry rum and six other types of local artisan rum from Colombier Tradition.
Leah Letson (28) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, began training in martial arts at the age of five. She earned her 2nd Degree Black Belt in Karate at the age of eleven, and her 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo at the age of fourteen. Letson began her career as a Mixed Martial Artist in 2014.
Matched up with Elizabeth Phillips at Invicta FC 21 in 2017, ‘Leah-Nidas’ landed a devastating head kick that led to a flurry of ground strikes and the bout being waved off just 78 seconds into round one, reported MMA News. After losing her debut professional fight, in a split decision, Letson has gone on to win her last five consecutive fights and hopes to extend the streak to six victories in September this year.
This year Letson, an Air Force veteran, was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for heroism and outstanding achievement. She is currently on the island for some much-needed rest and relaxation before returning home to Milwaukee to begin her three-month training in preparation for her comeback.
