Launched in 2002, The Killid Group (TKG) is today Afghanistan’s one of the most important public media outlet. Its 11 radio stations, state of the art multimedia production facilities, social media initiatives covers entire country, while TKG’s online radios presence makes it able to reach international boundaries as well. Radio Killid broadcasts its content in the languages and accents,
specific to the audience we serve. Although, some selected news and programs are produced and broadcasted in Uzbeki, Turkmani, Pashayee and Nooristani. TKG’s Mission
Is to enhance public access to critical information, promote civic media, freedom of speech and open discourse – altogether raising public awareness and opinion making. TKG – Radio Network
TKG operates the Radio Killid Network with local stations in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Balkh, Khost, Ghazni, Kunduz, Baghlan and Nimroz. While celebrating Nawroz in 2010 TKG launched Kabul Rock Radio station, Afghanistan’s first radio station dedicated to Rock Music, only of its kidn in the region promoting Rock Music, Alternative Mucic and Indie Rock 24 hours 7 days of the week. Radio Killid’s unique blend of public service-oriented programming (cultural, political, developmental and educational) news, entertainment, soap operas and music reaches more than 14 million of listerners. Many of Radio Killid’s programs and PSAs are shared with our 32 affiliated community radio stations throughout rural Afghansitan. TKG – Strategic Communications
The Killid Group, since its inception in 2002 has served as a reliable and creative communication and advocacy partner for numerous local, national and international organizations. TKG has adopted strategic communication as an umbrella term means to include a variety of communication-related approaches, such as public relations, brand communication, advertising and more. We analyze communication needs to map out a custom strategy that leverages the latest technologies with the best market research for continued success. We here at our Strategic Communication Department, develop messages through the process of creating key points or ideas, with high levels of planning and research. The developed messages are well targeted, created with a specific set of audience in mind, and further we help to position our partnered organization’s communication goals. To date, TKG has designed, produced and disseminated a wide variety of public communication campaigns, public service announcements, talks shows, radio roundtable debates – covering topics such as; domestic violence, health issues such as HIV/AIDS, child protection, literacy and girls/women rights for education, agricultural innovations, the dangers of poppy cultivation and use of drug. To maximize our reach to our audience across Afghanistan and the world, The Killid Group’s (TKG) website www.tkg.af operates in Pashto, Dari and English. In addition, Killid Local Radio are now streamed online and available on www.tkg.af/radios. We aim to deliver in-depth and timely informative services to all our audience. TKG has high presence in all social media platforms, with a huge number of followers. We engage our followers with our content to have community feedback and accordingly design and produce our contents, messages and programs.
