Abdul Majeed Momand bookstore and stationary, the first ever book store and stationary in eastern region of Afghanistan was established in 1973 by Rahem Gul Momand, the father of Abdul Majeed Momand. By then, Majeed Momand books and stataionary was the only shop in Jalalabad offering different categories of books, from Political to Academic to literary and fiction of Pashto and Dari.
Abdul Majeed Momand bookstore was taken and led by young Naseer Momand and with years of efforts and dedication took the store and turned into Momand publishing association in 2005. Since then, Momand publishing Association has published more than 11 Hundred type of books under different Titles.

After the tragic and sudden demise of Naseer Momand, the publishing company was taken by one young Najeeb Momand, a graduate of International relations from the University of Peshawar.
Likewise his elder brother Naseer Momand, Najeeb has dedicated his life to Afghan literature and spreading of knowledge through publishing books.

Founder of Momand Publication Association
Naseer Momand son of Abdul Majeed Momand and grandson of Raheem Gul Momand was born in 1980 in Jalalabad. Naseer Momand received his early education in Jalalabad and higher studies from Muslim college Peshawar, Pakistan.
In 2002 Naseer Momand returned to Afghanistan and with years of efforts and dedication established Momand books and publishing association.
Momand association has so far published more than 11 Hundred type of books under different Titles.
In addition to publishing books, Naseer Momand also translated and published five books. Naseer Momand was keen in spreading knowledge through the publishing of books in Afghanistan. In Jalalabad, he also issued and founded the first ever English magazine diamond.
For more than 10 years, Naseer Momand supported and assisted writers of Afghanistan by publishing books of different categories. He is always remembered as a supporter of writers and students.
Naseer Momand was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 Unfortunately, in 26 – April - 2014 he died because of cancer at the very age of 34. He left 4 daughters and 1 son. He was buried in Maqam Khan Graveyard Jalalabad.
Afghan writers, publishers, students and book lovers will always remember Naseer Momand as a kind and loving person who assisted thousands of students and writers.
