Port Qasim Receives New Buoy Vessel.

Turkish shipyard Med Marine, a leading builder of tugs and marine craft, has delivered a SeaTech Solutions designed buoy vessel for Port Qasim Authority in Pakistan. The 45m long vessel has been acquired for the critical task of managing navigational buoys and conducting essential conservancy operations within the 45km stretch of the Port Qasim’s harbour and access channel.

New Tugs for Colombo Port.

Sri Lanka Shipping (SLS), part of the Advantis Group, has recently celebrated the arrival of two new harbour tugs, further expanding its local fleet, with a naming ceremony for Aquarius and Capricorn. According to SLS, “These tugs mark a significant enhancement to our operational capabilities and are ready to provide exceptional service to our clients at the Port of Colombo.”

Damen to Build Vessels for Stock in the UAE.

Damen Shipyards has started a construction programme involving three new shallow draft multipurpose support vessels at Albwardy Damen in the UAE, in anticipation of an increase in offshore and dredging activity. The vessels are proven Damen models and are considered ideal for the operating conditions in the region, including shallow waters.

PSA Mumbai Achieves Record Monthly Throughput

PSA Mumbai has reached a historic milestone by handling more than 200,000 TEUs in monthly throughput for the first time in August this year, making it the first terminal in Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to achieve this feat. To commemorate the important accomplishment, PSA Mumbai organised a celebratory team gathering, where employees were recognized for their contributions through appreciation awards. The event also featured speeches by management, a cake-cutting ceremony, and a team lunch, all of which highlighted the collective effort and dedication of the entire team in reaching this milestone.

Cochin Yard Starts Dredger Construction Project

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) recently laid the keel of India’s largest dredger, DCI Dredge Godavari. This Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD), with a hopper capacity of 12,000 m3, is being built for the Dredging Corporation of India in collaboration with Royal IHC, Netherlands, one of the world leaders in terms of dredger design and construction.
