Great news for travelers! The UAE is rolling out a new project that lets tourists snag health insurance right when they apply for their visas. Announced on Monday by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), this "health insurance for tourist visas" is one of their cool new initiatives.

Major-General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, ICP’s director-general, revealed that this project is all about making life easier for tourists. You can now grab health insurance while filling out your visa application online, either through the ICP website or their handy app.

Stay Covered in Emergencies
The main goal? To ensure you have health coverage for any emergencies during your trip. The whole process is automated, with an electronic platform handling the pricing and issuance of insurance packages from all the big insurance players in the UAE.

Overstaying residents in the UAE will soon have access to discounted airfares to return to their home countries as part of the upcoming visa amnesty. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that they have secured agreements with major UAE airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, and Air Arabia, to offer reduced ticket prices. This initiative aims to assist residents facing financial challenges in leaving the country during the amnesty period.

Running from September 1 to October 30, 2024, the amnesty allows residents with expired visas or other documentation issues to leave the country without facing overstay fines or exit fees. While the amnesty program covers various visa types, it excludes those who entered the UAE illegally.

Residents with existing biometric records can apply for an exit permit online, while those without must visit designated centers for fingerprinting. The exit permit is valid for 14 days, and any delays in departure could lead to the reinstatement of previous fines and restrictions.

Please do not Panic and comply with Airlines 🙏

Check-in systems at airports across India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru airports were down causing commotion for passengers on July 19 morning. Airlines particularly IndiGo, Akasa and SpiceJet were affected due to a glitch in check-in systems.

As per airline officials, GoNow , the check in system is facing global outages since 10:45 AM due to Microsoft glitch that has hit media, financial, telecom and bank services.
This technical error is a part of the bigger, global Microsoft outage, which is leaving users across the world unable to access its cloud computing platforms and causing airlines to cancel flights.

Travel Tips!

Departure from India:
Always carry a print out of your E-Ticket copy and Other Documents (Visa copy if travelling outside of India) with you before leaving for the Airport.

In many cases security guards in India do not allow passengers to enter the airport if they do not have a printout of their travel documents (especially tickets and visas).
