WHO IS BOBI WINE ?
Bobi Wine whose real name Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine, Is an Ugandan activist, politician, singer, lawyer and actor. He is a former Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda's Central Region. He also leads the National Unity Platform political party.

Bobi Wine holds a law degree from the International University of East Africa. His multifaceted background blends music, acting, politics, law and social activism, making him a unique figure in Ugandan public life.

Born in Nkozi Hospital, he grew up in the Kamwokya slum in Kampala, Uganda's capital city.

As a musician, Bobi Wine's genres include kidandali, reggae, dancehall and afrobeat, often conveying socially conscious messages. His music career took off in the early 2000s, with popular singles like "Akagoma," "Funtula" and "Sunda." He's released over 70 songs over 15 years and has also acted in local Ugandan movies.

Bobi Wine's entry into politics began in 2017 when he won the Kyadondo County East constituency seat in Uganda's parliament. He later ran for president in the 2021 Ugandan election, claiming the results were fraudulent after incumbent Yoweri Museveni was declared the winner.
