Nobody really talks about how wearing the hijab as an adult is so different. Like, it’s not just a scarf you put, it’s a whole journey, a new identity. For me, it’s been about unlearning things, figuring out what it means to me, and slowly embracing it. Some days, it feels like a breeze, and other days, I struggle and that’s normal.
Hijab isn’t about where you live or what you do- it’s personal, it’s emotional, it’s spiritual and most importantly it’s your own journey.
It took me a long time to get to where I am now, and I know everyone’s on their own path. So if you’re struggling, or even just thinking about it, take your time. It’s okay. Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Everyone who judges you or says something negative, doesn’t know how you feel so take it as background noise and avoid them (or block them if possible)
