In 2010, they officially began a YouTube Channel and started off with a sitcom called "The Adventures Of Muthu Swamy". MVTV then collaborated with Rishi S. Lakhani to produce a parody tv broadcasting show called "Khoffee With KHDA" for Farewell 2011. This was met with an amazing reaction from the public. It was released on June 9th, 2011. MVTV then began pre-production on a sci-fi web-series titled "SURVIVORS" and released a pilot. But, "FLIPSIDE" is an original short film that "flipped" everything. Whatever you think of House of the Dragon, I think most of us can agree that it was no easy task to follow up on the bad taste that the final season of Game of Thrones left on its audience. But it actually managed to remind us of why became as popular as it did. truly benefits from its charismatic cast, sense of spectacle and the tragic nature of its plot regarding the most powerful family in Westeros turning on itself. However, there’s definitely some room for improvement, especially in the way that this season was paced. The story spanned multiple decades in just 10 episodes which dramatically affected character development & connectivity. Maybe this could’ve been handled differently so that characters and their relationships with each other could be more cohesively understood over more episodes/seasons. In the end, it felt a bit like a distant documentary than an immersive story. Going forward, I hope the creators keep the characters in the forefront as everything else about the show is absolute gold. 🐉

is another original Knives Out mystery from the mind of Rian Johnson that follows Daniel Craig as solving yet another crafty whodunnit case. The film has a lot of what made so enjoyable but it also stands on its own as a great spin-off. It’s got a fun ensemble cast that help sell the over-the-top twists. This pure entertainer is out now on Netflix so do check it out guys and watch it with a group if you can, because it’s worth the communal experience. 🕵🏼

The saga came to a close, for now atleast, with the finale of Better Call Saul and what a way to bookend the original masterpiece by Vince Gilligan. This show started off as a slow burn but has proven to be almost at par with its predecessor Breaking Bad with its layers of narrative brilliance, masterfully woven genres (part legal relationship drama & part dark crime thriller) and fantastic performances from the leads. After 6 seasons of a plot based on just a few throwaway lines in BrBa, the series ended with a satisfying conclusion that felt true to its characters and premise.

Whatever you think of the film, deserves universal praise solely for the efforts of Ryan Coogler & crew including the cast for getting this made considering the untimely death of Black Panther lead Chadwick Boseman. Even if it’s not the actual story that they initially planned on making for the sequel, it was beautifully adapted as a tribute to Chadwick and works as an organic progression for the supporting characters. Angela Bassett absolutely nails her monologues in this one and Letitia Wright really steps up to the unprecedented task of moving away from the supporting role that she had initially signed up for. Although Michael B Jordan’s Killmonger stole the show with his strong motivations in the predecessor, Tenoch Huerta is still electrifying as the antagonist . All in all, is a thoughtful film about handling grief and rising up to the occasion that is slightly longer than it should be. 🙅🏾‍♀️

The is alive & kicking again after what feels like a gap of more than a year. is supposed to launch a new phase for this cinematic universe and I can’t lie, the is just mindless fun and as advertised. It’s at its best when Dwayne The Rock Johnson is just allowed to do his thing and enact a “fish out of water” scenario, especially during the first two thirds of the movie. However, if you really peer behind the entertaining visuals, the thin storyline is a solid let-down. I honestly would have liked for the characters to stand out on their own and the villain was sadly extremely forgettable. Still, it does set up a few exciting things for the future of films so I’m not entirely discouraged yet. So *ahem* stay back for an epic mid-credits scene. *hint-hint* ⚡️

is firing on all cylinders in Season 3! Every plot point really works in the show. For instance, themselves try to even the playing field by getting temporary superpowers which leads to some interesting predicaments. However, the best part of this series remains to be its focus on smart political satire, shocking gore and brilliant character progression. is an awesome addition to the cast as the PTSD fueled vengeful and .starr as usual steals the show with his extraordinary performance of a deeply insecure and deranged . 👊🏼

If you thought that Stranger Things was starting to lose its charisma over the last 2 seasons, takes you back to the basics and reminds you of what made the show a spectacular hit for Netflix. The unsettling Stephen King 80’s horror vibes are back in all its glory and I especially dug how the lovable ensemble cast was divided into groups for 4 different yet linked storylines that fed into an exciting and thrilling plot. Also, for the first time, we have a villain , who’s more complex and compelling than the monsters we’ve had so far. I only wish that there were more significant changes or casualties in the end but I guess the Duffer brothers are probably saving that trauma for the last season. 💯

In the mood for a wild entertainer with creative action sequences, high octane visuals and a really rad cast? Bullet Train is your fix then! doesn’t offer a lot of new beats in terms of plot points but it does however make up for this shortcoming with its insanely stylistic setting and colorful characters that just keep you heavily invested for most of the runtime. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are special standouts in this btw, seriously dug their characters and every scene they were in. Oh and watch out for the many cameos sprinkled in! Thanks a bunch Reel Cinemas by Emaar The Dubai Mall for the early invites to the fan-screening of this latest entry from Deadpool director and veteran stuntman David Leitch. 🚆

is a well intentioned film that just unfortunately falls flat mainly because of a jarring mishmash of tones. Was really looking forward to this because Taika Waititi never fails to entertain with his heartwarming stories. Plus, the cast was really promising and Christian Bale delivers the goods. Just felt that the plot in this could’ve benefitted from a more dramatic and level-headed tone but it honestly doubles down on the excellent comedic tone set in its predecessor, . This time, it’s a bit too much and somber sequences could’ve been more balanced with restraint on the humor. To summarize, Thor is with a few visionary ideas, spectacular visuals and fun moments but it gets slightly more disappointing the more you think about it. 🔨⚡️

Fans have been demanding for more from Evan McGregor’s take on ever since the prequel trilogy concluded. We finally have that answered on with the series but it may not always be what we expected or needed. I do appreciate the organic narrative choices that were included in the story but the fact remains that since we already know where these characters are headed, there’s very little in terms of actual stakes for them. Tensions are undercut when introducing conflicts involving legacy characters like , , and because we already know that they can’t be mortally wounded or damaged yet, for the detrimental sake of continuity. Still, the show does excel in moments sprinkled throughout every episode. It’s also at its best when focusing on its titular flawed hero as he begins to reconcile with his past. The show also succeeds in building a compelling extended cast as well.

Truly appreciate how deep Marvel Studios is ready to dig into the comic books now. We’ve come a long way since the good ol’ Iron Man days and now we have been introduced to yet another lesser known albeit cult-favorite hero, . And what an introduction it was. There are certain key elements that make Moon Knight really work. Lead actor Oscar Isaac is definitely one of them. He’s an absolute unit in this with his portrayal of both timid & polite Steven Grant (with a British accent) and his alternative identity Mark Spector who is Jewish American & suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Mental health is something that is delicately and sensitively addressed in this series and Isaac truly nails his performances that shift ever so naturally. Although it is important to note that the storyline leans towards mental illness and egyptian mythology more than the superhero element, I do believe this did help set the stage for a unique origin story. However, I wasn’t a fan of the way it was edited as I do feel a few action and dramatic scenes could’ve benefited from the camera lingering on the characters a little more than it did. Also, the show’s plot lags slightly in the middle but is kickstarted again with a bang in the last 2 episodes which in my opinion are the best. Lastly, I really have to appreciate the culturally accurate depiction of Egypt which can be attributed to Egyptian director Mohamed Dian, the stunning framing of shots and the epic score.

So grateful that is clearly a Sam Raimi film through and through. His creative visual style and creepy horror influences are so evident in this that it elevates the plot from its shallow characterization and conventional take on the concept to make it an energetic and fresh experience. The leads, especially Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, deliver palpable performances that really help their characters stand apart, even withstanding a combination of tones from dark humor, horror and drama. Also, gotta praise Danny Elfman’s score in this one coz he knocked it out of the park. There are some huge cameos in but I’m not too sure if they’re on the level of fans and audience expectations. I’m just glad that the film focuses on the key characters in a fun & twisted entry into the . Here’s a and go watch it at the theaters before every spoiler worth experiencing is released online. 🔅

After watching James Gunn’s The Su***de Squad, who would’ve thought that one of its most unlikeable characters would get his very own show and get redeemed as well? is a tightly scripted show that is oozing with the style & charisma that we’ve come to appreciate and love. The most commendable effort here is the amount of layers that the writer director has added for both the protagonists and antagonists which are brought to life by the incredible cast led by John Cena at the forefront. Also, I especially dug that stands on its own with a closed character arc but also leaves room for further developments in future seasons. 🕊

Warner Bros. PicturesWarner Bros. Simply put, works as an excellent take on the mythic tale of the caped crusader’s failing battle for the soul of because it succeeds at crafting a world that is so rich in terms of characters and lore akin to the comics. The has a bleak yet gorgeous noir tone with a gripping mystery at the center that allows to actually be depicted as the . The writing is clearly inspired by David Fincher’s psychological crime thrillers and it absolutely works for this version of . More than anything, I just love how the theme of vengeance comes full circle in the end which compels you to want to return to this world once more. Thankfully, a trilogy is in the works because there’s so much potential for the future of these characters. The cast is perfectly handpicked with the antagonists being standouts. Colin Farrell is unrecognizable as (even his voice!), Paul Dano goes all out in his unique portrayal of the , John Turturro is magnetic as Carmine Falcone and Zoe Kravitz as just perfectly encapsulates the physicality & moral ambiguity that both challenges & attracts Batman’s worldview. Jeffrey Wright is fantastic as James Gordon and I especially love his buddy cop chemistry with Batman. Finally, Robert Pattinson as Batman is certainly the most emo and grim version of the hero yet but it works for the timeline and setting. Honestly can’t wait for the creative team to revisit these characters again. Thank you so much Warner Bros. Pictures for the premiere invites Dolby Cinema Reel Cinemas by Emaar! 🦇❓

When I heard that Uncharted was being marketed as an action adventure film akin to and , I was immediately intrigued enough to buy tickets to watch it in theaters. The genre is close to my heart but maybe I went in with more expectations than I should have had. The cast showed promise and Tom Holland has undeniable charm & charisma in the lead role of . Unfortunately this doesn’t make up for the choppy writing/editing and average dialogue that just doesn’t cut it. It also doesn’t help that virtually every character other than the lead is highly unlikeable mainly because of the tiring number of double crosses that happen throughout the course of the film. All in all, is although you won’t hate yourself for watching it.

the leads in Siddhant chaturvedi & Deepika Padukone weren’t the only ones that piqued my interest in watching the film. I was actually looking forward to Shakun Batra’s next venture after his previous film that I really love. That isn’t to say that the cast isn’t good. On the contrary, they’re probably the best part of this deeply disturbing & complex tale of infidelity and the past coming back to haunt you. The performances are aided with stunning cinematography and an apt tone, although I do wish there was a little more balance in terms of pacing and story choices. This dreary and heavy piece may not be for everyone as it can get overly melancholic and a bit absurd at times because of character relationships that come off a bit one-note.

Tbh, I didn’t really feel like watching The Book of Boba Fett when it started off and I’m actually glad that I decided to binge all the episodes together. Here’s why: bluntly put, it doesn’t really have a level plot for the titular character . This limited series excels when it’s driven by Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin AKA which is sad because it’s not even his show. The first 4 episodes are a bit of a drag to get past as there’s just not enough of a narrative to keep you wanting more. Even the intertwined storylines seem to get in the way of the viewing experience although I do admit that the actors including Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen give it their all. But it’s from the 5th episode that things start really picking up and then clearly becomes one of the best fanboy experiences in a very long time. So if you’re willing to go through a little bit of a tough storytelling phase for a whole lot of epic moments then you may just enjoy what the becomes. 🔫🗡

I didn’t think that I’d ever get the chance to revisit one of the few shows that I was an avid fan of during my younger days but here we go; is back with a brand new series! Clyde Phillips, the showrunner of the first 4 seasons of the original Showtime Networks show (that are pretty much the best imo, as the seasons after that pretty much went downhill because it just started to take itself way too seriously) returns to correct the god-awful series finale by bravely accepting it and picking up right after, with a rather interesting narrative. The story is delightfully disturbing as it starts to provide some semblance of closure and it still has incredible performances all around and especially from Michael C Hall, Jack Alcott, Julia Jones, Jennifer Carpenter and Clancy Brown. However, even with a great plot, still ends on a bit of a jarring note which is slightly disappointing because of the many possibilities that it had going for it instead. Still, a worthy watch for die-hard fans.

Tbh, Hawkeye was never THE Disney+ Marvel Studios that I was looking forward to watching in 2021 but this really took me by surprise. The plot does lag and the story takes a while to kick into high gear (episode 3 is when the show really picks up for me) but the street level action and the palpable chemistry between the leads are a refreshing change of pace. The cast in especially Jeremy Renner Hailee Steinfeld & Florence Pugh really help elevate the show’s entertaining & fun nature. Yeah, I had a bit of a sabbatical recently so kinda late to review this one but after watching this bloody fun movie, I just had to let you know my thoughts. Minnal Murali Official feels original even though it’s filled with familiar tropes because the talented director Basil Joseph & his writing team have focused on grounding the story as a very local one. In fact, the plot feels so real that it would still work as a feel-good character driven drama even without the superhero twist thrown into the mix. The screenplay does tend to meander especially because there’s a ton of build-up but I would still argue that it sets up a brilliant metaphor which links the protagonist & antagonist with emotional weight. It is no doubt that Guru Somasundaram steals every scene he is in as he is given the most to do with his dramatic arc but Tovino Thomas does a phenomenal job in balancing their dynamic as the primary foil. Even with its flaws, might just be the best made in India and that certainly warrants a . I really hope this spawns a franchise as I’m actually interested to see how this local superhero’s story can be developed further in a meaningful way. ⚡️

The Witcher Netflix returns with a much more confident season that builds on the fascinating lore and explores previously unseen aspects of the fantasy. But this focus on world-building on its own isn’t as impressive as it’s exciting treatment of converging storylines that works to propel Geralt’s, Ciri’s and Yennefer’s story arcs further. 🚨 SPOILER ALERT: No, I did not watch Spider-Man only just now. I was waiting to review it for 2 reasons. I needed to watch it again (and probably a couple more times soon) and I did not want to spoil it just yet because reviewing it, is kinda hard when you exclude spoilers. So now that it’s been more than a week since its release, let’s do this!

quickly became the most anticipated of the year and for good reason. The trailers and hype surrounding the promised a multiversal trip by bringing in elements from the previous 2 franchises into the . Being a huge fan, this idea was both incredibly exciting and scary for me. I was constantly trying to keep my expectations in check because I did not want to be disappointed by pointless nostalgia-fueled cameos or false promises or even story beats that are all over the place. Having said this, trust me, this delivers on all fronts and even more. Firstly, Tom Holland is at his peak here as his story picks up right off the bat from its predecessor and focuses up as a origin arc that forces his Peter Parker to finally step out of the shadow of other heroes and become his own person.

I’m so glad to say that the performances in this are on point especially because none of the actors from even the previous franchises seem to be phoning it in “for the paycheck”. Alfred Molina’s and Jamie Foxx’s among others are fantastic and so are the , Toby Maguire & Andrew Garfield who have all been treated as actual supporting characters with arcs that expand upon their previous iterations in ways that are truly brilliant and even heartwarming. I would even highlight Willem Dafoe’s as the best and most menacing version of the character yet. The story incorporates quite a lot of fan-service moments but it is done tastefully and organically. It’s not perfect but it had me smiling throughout (especially during one particular cameo that just did it for me!). Even if you’re not a die-hard fan like I am, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one in the theater. 🕷

Eternals is a well-meaning attempt by Academy Award-winning director, Chloe Zhao to condense a vast number of previously unseen characters, mythology, story arcs, grand action and philosophies into 1 feature length movie. To be honest, I respect the ambition. The film’s got gorgeous landscapes, an astounding sense of scale and a fabulous cast (even though there may be 1 or 2 wooden performances especially because of the material that they have to work with). But along with these positives, it unfortunately suffers from more than a fair share of flaws that can be hard for viewers to forgive. It runs too long, yet it fails to explore its characters in detail. It seems to be artful yet it has an incoherent plot structure with confounding story choices. It’s exciting in parts yet dull in others. This makes the entire experience of watching the film a quite divisive one especially because the potential is quite evident. Maybe it would’ve been easier to digest as a limited series or a TV show. Then again, it would probably lose out on the incredible spectacle of the celestials and the impressive VFX heavy sequences. So yeah, not sure where to stand on this one. is but not the operatic epic that it so desperately wants to be.

is Mike Flanagan’s passion project and you can clearly tell as this is both ambitious and deeply affecting. There’s never a predictable twist as the story unfolds itself organically whilst exploring unsettling truths of faith, death and free will in a manner that’s bound to leave even an avid fan shaking and pondering long after the credits roll. The performances from the cast including Hamish Linklater, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli & Zach Gilford among others are top notch, especially because of the insanely relatable characters they had to work with. Mike Flanagan’s direction has certainly solidified his position as the next big name in horror especially because of the way that his writing was able to reinvent & match genres in a way that’s probably never done before. ✝️

is a bummer. There, I said it. Growing up having read the comics, watched the animated shows and played the video games, probably had a hand in elevating my expectations but in this movie felt like a truly wasted opportunity. It didn’t help that Woody Harrelson was given very little to do, despite Cletus Kasady being one of the most villainous & deranged comic book characters out there. & Eddie Brock do share a fun & entertaining dynamic brought to life by the talented Tom Hardy but it isn’t something new when you consider that you’ve seen it before in the previous film. The film is short and doesn’t have much to offer other than the titular character’s banter with his host but the mind-blowing mid-credits scene definitely overshadows the movie itself.
