Zimbabwe Receives Prestigious WHO Accolade for Excellence in Medicine Regulation

By Ilyana Sithole

In a significant milestone, Zimbabwe has become the sixth country in Africa to achieve World Health Organization (WHO) maturity Level 3 in the regulation of medicines. This prestigious recognition acknowledges Zimbabwe's robust medicine regulatory system, ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of medicines for its citizens.

The WHO's maturity model assesses a country's regulatory system across four levels, with Level 3 indicating a stable and established system that consistently delivers high-quality outcomes. Zimbabwe's achievement demonstrates its commitment to meeting international standards and best practices in medicine regulation.

Director General Richard Rukwata of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe at a press briefing today said the key factors contributing to Zimbabwe's success include:

*Breaking Free from the Past: Zimbabwe's Journey to Economic Revival*

By Ilyana Sithole

A recent post on X has sparked a lively debate about Rhodesia's industrial achievements, leaving me pondering a crucial question: Why do we often find ourselves caught up in the past, rather than harnessing our collective energy to shape a brighter future?

It's undeniable that Rhodesia's industrial prowess was impressive, with notable achievements in manufacturing, mining, and agriculture. The country's ability to produce a wide range of goods, from radios and TV sets to trucks and armored vehicles, was a testament to its ingenuity and determination. The thriving capital markets, sophisticated railway network, and iconic brands like Dairiboard and National Foods all contributed to a sense of national pride and accomplishment.

*Justice Must Be Served: R**e Cases Highlight Need for Accountability*

By Ilyana Sithole

As I read through the recent court cases on the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, X handle, I am extremely appalled and saddened by the alleged crimes committed by two particular individuals, a Chinese national and a Gweru man, who have been accused of r**e. The details of these cases are disturbing and unacceptable, and it is imperative that our justice system takes swift and severe action against those found guilty.

The first case involves a 51-year-old Chinese national who allegedly r**ed a 17-year-old girl at a mine in Gweru. The fact that he was her employer and took advantage of his power and position is despicable. The victim's courage in coming forward and reporting the incident, despite being fired and intimidated, is commendable. It is essential that the authorities ensure her safety and protection throughout the trial process.

The second case is equally disturbing, where a 42-year-old man from Gweru allegedly r**ed a woman while she was sleeping, with her two-year-old child by her side. The fact that he asked for forgiveness and tried to silence her shows his guilt and lack of remorse. This case highlights the brazen nature of some perpetrators, who feel emboldened to commit such heinous crimes in the presence of vulnerable individuals, including children.

*CHIVAYO NOT IN THE PRESIDENT’s NAME.*

BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA

The controversial businessman who donates cars to hundreds of people and a self proclaimed rich man Mr Wicknel Chivhayo has been caught in a web of confusion following the leaking of an audio where he is heard bosting that he controls the president. He continues to state that he is the most loved person by the President of the country. His audio has outraged many Zimbabweans who now believe that Chivayo is getting some underhand favours. Chivayo again had another audio leaked went on dropping names in-order to be taken as a blue eyed boy of the president. Chivayo is saying no more than a stringing together of a combinition of genuine incidents of corruption and fabricated incidents tarnishing the image of the innocent by associating them with corruption. The major reason for his boastful audio is to undermine to good work which is being done by the President and ZANU PF.

"United We Stand, Divided We Fall"

By The Spika

Oh Africa, land of our ancestors' pride
How long shall we be fooled, and our unity denied?
Divided we fall, united we stand
But against what, and for what, do we hold hands?

Our enemy offers freebies, a temporary high
But at what cost, do we sell our souls, and ask not why?
Unity of purpose, is it still a dream?
Or a myth, like a wet dream, that we chase, but never seem?

We forget our roots, our shared breast
Our common heritage, our collective nest
We listen to strangers, who sow seeds of discord
And we fight each other, like beasts, without a cord

Africa, our beloved motherland
How long shall we be used, to destroy our own hand?
Instead of building, we tear down our own walls
And the stranger laughs, as we fall, and lose our identity's call

Cry, my beloved people, for how long shall we bleed?
Kill our own brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers, in vain?
For the stranger's gain, we sacrifice our own kin
And our unity, is the ultimate sin

But still, we hold on, to the hope in our hearts
That one day, we'll rise, and never again be torn apart
By the forces of division, that seek to destroy
Our unity, our strength, our purpose, our joy

Let us unite, for a purpose, that's true
For our collective progress, our common destiny, anew
Let us stand tall, and never again fall
For we are Africa, united, we stand, we rise, we conquer all!

Praise: The Timeless Antidote to Depression, Anxiety, and Fear

By Ilyana Sithole

In today's world, where bad news and negativity seem to prevail, depression, anxiety, and fear can easily take hold of our lives. However, as Christians, we have a powerful weapon to combat these enemies: praise.

In 1 Samuel 16:14-16, we read the story of King Saul, who was tormented by a spirit of depression and fear. But whenever David played soothing music on his harp, the evil spirit left him. This ancient remedy remains effective today.

David, the psalmist, knew the secret of praise. He declared, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1). Praise is not just a Sunday activity or a occasional expression; it's a continuous attitude that chases away the enemy.

When we're feeling down, it's often harder to open the Bible or pray in the Spirit. But praising God through song or words can be a more accessible way to start. Praise lays the foundation for deeper spiritual engagement and creates an environment where the enemy cannot thrive.

Let us remember that God has given us this weapon of praise to use against the enemy. May we continually praise Him, not just in good times but also in the face of adversity. As we do, we'll find strength, comfort, and victory over depression, anxiety, and fear.

PRAYER:
Father, we thank you for the weapon of praise. Help us, Holy Spirit, to use this weapon whenever the enemy attacks us. May our praise be continual, and may we find victory in Your presence. Amen.

By Ilyana Sithole

As we head into the weekend, let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty in the everyday. In our fast-paced, achievement-driven world, it's easy to overlook the small wonders that surround us. But what if l told you that the key to happiness and fulfillment lies not in some grand adventure, but in the simple moments that make up our daily lives?

This week, we've been exploring the paradox of the mundane, and how the ordinary moments in our lives can become extraordinary when we take the time to truly appreciate them. It's a reminder that life is precious, and that every moment is a gift.

So, as you go about your weekend, take a step back and look around you with fresh eyes. Notice the way the sunlight filters through the leaves, the sound of children laughing, or the smell of freshly brewed coffee. These are the things that make life extraordinary, and they are hiding in plain sight.

Don't let the hustle and bustle of daily life distract you from the beauty and wonder that surrounds you. Take a moment to appreciate the tiny miracles that fill your life, and remember that the ordinary is actually extraordinary.
