ZIMBABWE'S PUBLIC AMENITIES ARE EXTREMELY DEPLORABLE AND FEASIBLY DIFFICULT TO USE.
......as sports facilities require major face-lift to develop talent.

Reporting from Budiriro in Glenview North constituency.

Soccer is the most supported sport in the world and therefore, it remains very populous with many who follow the football games.

It must be guaranteed by the government and construct suitable sports facilities which help develop soccer.

Zimbabwe has got a mammoth task to develop and manage sports facilities with the country having no FIFA approved stadium to host international games.

It is a pity to see our National Soccer Team, "The Warriors" playing their home games in Uganda or Rwanda which defeat the whole purpose of raising the football spirit.

Glenview North constituency is one such an area which also does not have suitable public amenities such as football grounds to promote sport.

Young lads who are in various academies find it very difficult to develop their skills which will see their dream end up landing lucrative football careers or joining professional leauges.

Coach Mr Mashingaidze, of Rovers Academy has spoken over bad state of the only available dusty Chimbumu ground which he recommended for major rehabilitation.

The place is popular and the chair makers sell their products to places surrounding Glenview as well as the rest of the country.

We managed to speak to one of the manufacturer and he acknowledged how their business helps them in looking after their families.

Reporting from Harare, Zimbabwe.

The downward trajection of economic decline has seen one of the major civil engineering group, De C De Sousa closing down.

The company has already wrapped up operations and subsequently sold the premise together with powerful engineering equipment.

It was housed at corner Hood and Highfield roads in Southerton, Harare. The mighty manufacturers of underground fuel storage tanks and mobile tanker bowsers has closed down.

It also used to manufacture boats for the leisure and fishery industries.

De C De Sousa also used to have a mobile crane division which was called Wilson Holdings and equally was sold in tandem with the parent company.

That is a very sad development in the civil engineering industry.

44TH SADC SUMMIT MUST DELIVER A PEOPLE CENTRED RESOLUTIONS THAN SERVING INTERESTS OF HEADS OF STATES.

By Isaya Ndawana.

Scoreline Media Founder and Editor.

Reporting from Harare, Zimbabwe.

Southern African Development Community (SADC), is a regional body from Southern part of Africa which is comprised of sixteen (16) countries.

These are, Angola, Mozambique, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, Eswathini, Seychelles, Mauritius, Namibia, Lesottho and Madagascar.

The inception of Southern African Development Community was born from just a fight spirit against colonial occupation objective to free the whole of Southern Africa.

Transformed from Southern African Development Coordinating Conference (SADCC) established 11 April 1980 into present day Southern African Development Community (SADC), which was formed on 17 August 1992 in Namibia.

The organisation's primary objectives is to
- achieve Development and economic growth.
- alleviate poverty.
- enhance the standard and quality of life of people of Southern Africa.
- support the socially disadvantaged through regional Intergration.
- evolve common political values, systems and institutions.
- promote and defend peace and security.

Is SADC genuinely following it's roles and functions to fulfill on the above objectives ? This has become an impossibility with underlining more rhetoric than a reality.

It is very sad experience that the regional body is more attached to protecting liberation movements than serving people's interests.

People have continued to suffer under bad governance with lot of injustices committed by black governments which fought against discrimination and oppression against native people from colonial rule.

What we are enduring under black oppression by black governments was exactly the same treatment which natives experienced under colonial rule.

Social contracts have reached paralysis state especially in Zimbabwe with public services virtually collapsed. Especially in Zimbabwe.

South Africa has of late complained that their health services have become stretched especially by expecting mothers who cross Limpopo river to give birth.

This, therefore negates and defeats the whole purpose of improving the standard and quality of life of Zimbabwe.

Poverty has continued to dominate our citizens and that responsibility by government to look after its own citizens rightly becoming a zero commitment.

It is against this background that instead of government subsidising citizens the opposite have become the order of the day with people subsidising the government.

The evolvement of common political values, systems and institutions have become permanently rooted in the liberation movement such as,
- Swapo of Namibia.
- Zanu PF of Zimbabwe.
- ANC of South Africa.
- Frelimo of Mozambique.
- Cha Cha Mapinduzi of Tanzania.
- UNIP of Angola.
- BDP of Botswana.

The major thrust is to make sure these institutions of political movements protect each other to the fullest.

It is the reason why elections are never free and fair environment but rigging has been a common feature always.

SADC does not protect opposition political parties but evolves on common political values which rally on each other with allegiance towards liberation movements.

SADC must move towards migration from the frontline states model and achieve total democratic values than political values.

It is also logical that SADC must move in protecting general public than those in power abusing their own subjects through arbitrary arrests and detention against humanity.

More need to be done to consider ordinary people than cronies who are looters of national wealth and plundering of resources.

NEON IS A GIANT IN SOUND SYSTEM AND OUTDOOR BROADCASTING EQUIPMENT.

Reporting from Harare, Zimbabwe.

Neon is in its own class when it comes to outdoor broadcasting support.

Scoreline Media caught up with one of it's staffer by the name Romeo Mushore. He was busy disabling the sound equipment which was used to beam the live broadcasting via downfeed from ZBCtv.

Neon does provide big outdoor television screens which were capturing broadcasting live coverage, downfed from ZBCtv.

We asked him what makes Neon tick as a service provider and Romeo Mushore said their major product is performance stage management.

This includes sound and lighting systems as well as giant television sets which are used during an outdoor broadcasting.

Neon is a giant on its own right and it gives the occasion very best in production. During Alick Macheso's Kupa Kuturikwa album launch which was held on 02 August 2024, Neon provided stage lighting system and that is a testimony it is highly competent.

Providing a service at a national event like Heroes day commemoration is not mediocre but highly exceptional and qualitative production.

ZIMBABWEANS SPEAK ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF REMEMBERING OUR HEROES AND HEROINES WHO LIBERATED OUR COUNTRY FROM RHODESIA.

12 August 2024.

By Isaya Ndawana

Scoreline Media Founder and Editor.

Reporting from Harare, Zimbabwe.

Liberation struggle was our gateway to attain our independence from Rhodesia, then under the late Ian Douglas Smith.

The war was hard fought on the heels of human lives loses which occurred with lot of blood spilled, where thousands perished, both combatants and civilians.

Today marked yet another day of heroes day holiday which was set aside to remember our fallen heroes.

Scoreline Media has managed to talk to few people after the main ceremony ended at about lunch time, during a walkabout of the National Shrine.

We caught up with maiMona, a Hararian from Ashdown Park who was in the company of her children. Mai Mona was born in 1984, four (4) years after gaining our independence.

This publication asked her the significance of heroes day commemoration and gracing the event with her children.

This is what she said, "it is a very important occasion as we came with our children who are normally made to pay during school trips, but today is a free event, which is advantageous to our children. We assist them and also explains on whatever they want to know, giving them guidance."

Further we talked to her twin daughters whom she was in company. They are both in grade five (5). They managed to answer when asked by this publication to mention names of those who are lying at the National Heroes Acre.

However Mona singled out heroines, late Mrs Victoria Chitepo and the former First lady Sally Mugabe, failing to provide their male counterparts buried at the National Shrine.

However, Nokutenda, also in company, another daughter to mai Mona said, had it not for the heroes and heroines, we should not be living in a free Zimbabwe.

This is what she said, "the importance of our heroes and heroines is that they fought for us during the armed struggle and had it not been their sacrifices and effort, we were not going to be free."

We also caught with Mai Defyney from Epworth and this is what she said, "heroes day is remembered in honour of the late heroes and heroines who fought a bitter war which spilled lot of blood. We value their sacrifices for setting us free from the jaws of colonial rule."

Lastly a youth by the name Leslie Kondo was not clearly in memory of why we remember the heroes day but he correctly responded by knowing some of the names of heroes who were laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre.

Over and above, there was a great number of multitudes of people who came to witness first hand live the ambience of our National Shrine.

12/08/2024

Thousands thronged National Heroes Acre today in commemoration of our departed heroes who were laid to rest at the National Shrine.

People came in their multitudes in memory of our heroes and heroines who dedicated their life through the protracted liberation war which brought about our independence.

They played a pivotal role in bringing about our freedom.

Scoreline Media had a privilege to attend today's Heroes day commemoration which was held at the National Heroes Acre.

Situated between Warren Park and Belvedere, Heroes Acre has been a hive of activity today, drawing large crowds and all the grandstands were full to capacity.

We have managed to capture this attached vedio for the late Zanla Commader, General Josiah Magama Tongogara who was assaninated on the 26th of December 1979.

He left a legacy despite not having managed to live into a freed Zimbabwe but his contribution was immensely recognised.

The lock-jam which was about to swell at Intersection of Craster, Lobengula and Highfield roads was averted as Zimbabwe Republic Police Traffic section intervened to clear the traffic jam.

Zimbabwe Republic Police must continue doing community service as driving along our roads has become very difficult and painful.

Motorists have been largely inconvenienced due to speed humps which were constructed by City of Harare.

However that was a necessity but motorists are not happy especially when it's peak hour, traffic flow is re****ed resulting in a big jam.

Democratic route is allowing multi-party practice to be fostered in a process which underlines pluralism of different political parties.

Monopoly of a one party state divorces against a multi-democratic process which allows various political parties to practice.

The world has witnessed seating Presidents extending their terms of office beyond constitution. It is done against the dictates of their country's laws to remain at the helm of power.

The power which is hard to let go easily and hence those in power dwell on living up to infinity and going beyond saturated rule.

President Emerson Mnangagwa did coin the phrase 2030 ndendichipo (2030 I will still be there) in his usual theatrical stance.

Little did the nation know that, this phrase will get further attention through endorsements by his ruling party Zanu PF.

There is a pre-occupation of statement that baba vanofanirwa kupedzese maprojects avakatanga (President must accomplish the good works he has started).

In this benevolence of breaking the constitution, one can not allude to it but condemn such a growing voice of extending term of office.

Our national constitution dwell on two five year terms and anything beyond this is a breach of our national law.

The plaque which is attached is going the opposite direction with 2030 anenge asisipo (2030 he will not be there).

It is ironically with reference to President Emerson Mnangagwa that 2030 he would have vacated office number one (1).

Seating Presidents must not be possessful of power in going against the National Constitution.

A legacy must be written in proper terms to leave footprints which are memorable than unpopular.

It is therefore very paramount that nomatter what people may say through collusion influences that ED 2030 vanenge vachipo sloganeering, President Emerson Mnangagwa must vacate office after 2028.

It will be a serious error to deface our National Constitution to suit the ED 2030 vanenge vachipo and it does not auger well.

Constitutional panel beating will be the worst ever thing to do against following the law which will discredit legacy of a seating President.

Reporting from Alex Park Sports Club.

Scoreline Media had an opportunity to visit Alex Park Sports Club tonight to see the preparatory work being done for the upcoming Alick Macheso album launch show.

Work in progress on the stage was at an advanced stage and that alone was a testimony that the much publicised Alick Macheso show is still on the cards.

The prolific sungura artist Alick Macheso is going to deliver his latest album Kupa Kuturika on 02 Friday 2024 at Alex Park Sports club.

That will be his thirteenth (13th) album, produced by Bothwell Nyamhondera whilst Aaron Tomu was the engineer. Recorded at his Alema Music in Chitungwiza.

The album is a six track piece as it is the norm with music production which is a tradition.

The hearsay news or corridor talk which was peddled through different social media publications is contrary to what Scoreline Media witnessed on the ground.

It was reported that due to SADC Summit of Heads of States and Government, which is slated for 17 and 18 August 2024, public gatherings have been banned.

However, that is wrong information which was propagated from no substantial evidence to prove such speculative news.

Alick Macheso will be live at this venue or joint where he is expected to woo his legion of fans.

ZIMBABWE'S TURN TO ASSUME SADC'S ROTATIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP BEING OVER CELEBRATED BY ZANU PF.
.....like our April 1980 independence.

30 July 2024.

By Isaya Ndawana

Scoreline Media Founder and Editor.

Reporting from Harare, Zimbabwe.

The Zanu PF excitement which is dominating forthcoming SADC summit being hosted by Zimbabwe on 17 and 18 August 2024 has lived beyond just a regional conference or SADC Heads of States convergence.

It has taken the capital city, Harare by storm and preparations are by far outweighing any other concerns or priorities with government efforts summarily attached to SADC Summit alone.

Preparations have already had adverse effects to informal businesses in Harare.. Vendors' daily activities have started to suffocate as law commenced tight cleanup exercise by expelling them from their CBD bases.

Informal trade has become the mainstays of supporting thousands of families with their lives solely depending on vending as source of income.

Why now and why was that not done prior to this coming Summit ? It is a move to hide the truth and reality on the ground as a cover-up.

The 44th SADC summit has reached unprecedented joy by Zanu PF, which can not be separated from what was witnessed during our independence celebrations on 18 April 1980.

The event seems much hyped than any other summit which was held before in our country such as Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which was an international grouping.

Never have we witnessed such an over celebrated event by the ruling party and the incoming SADC Chairman President Emerson Mnangagwa is being accorded the position on a rotational basis than on merit.

There were no votes carried out through a regional election to choose the next SADC chair but it is only coming through a routine scheduled handover takeover in a rotational basis.

Nothing is worth to celebrate but that route is affixed to zonal sharing of responsibilities by each member state and when President Emerson Mnangagwa's term of office ends, the Chairmanship is passed onto the next Head of state.

Zupco buses have already been labelled SADC 44th Summit with roadworks leading to the venue, New Parliament building being spruced to also cover-up our bad image.

Zimbabwe has got more pressing priorities to consider than harnessing resources to patch up on our poor roads with the Summit only going to last for just two days.

We are in a drought induced by elnino and more funds ought to be channelled towards procuring more more maize to make sure every corner of the country gets food.

Former Cllr Victor Chifodya, who served ward 30 for two terms is now promoting youth development through sports. He is running a soccer academy by the name Rising Stars Academy.

The academy targets youths from as young as eight (8) years old to eighteen (18) years old and it is based in Glenview North constituency.

He has managed to link up with local and foreign soccer scouts who will identify talented soccer lads who will then be assisted to go to overseas.

Leading the scouts is Munashe Mandaza (son to Mr Mandaza) who operates Elsebury Bus Services, then other two who are all based in UK. Lastly the forth one is locally based in Harare.

On Saturday 21 July 2024, the academy featured in a tournament which was played at Chimbumu grounds in Budiriro 3, which falls in Glenview North constituency.

Those who make it to get a rare fortune to be tapped into UK after being considered will have the opportunity to be given scholarships and concurrently playing football which comes in handy.

Cllr Chifodya however bemoaned lack of suitable sports facilities to use for their training programmes and more needs to be done to develop community multi-sports facilities.
