THE GRAIN Marketing Board (GMB) will soon take in the delivery of 13 brand new grain dryers procured by Government aimed at reducing post-harvest yield loss, Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Resettlement Minister, Vangelis Haritatos has said. The new dryers will complement the seven already existing dryers at some of the GMB depots in the country. Deputy Minister Haritatos said the dryers will help cut production costs on the part of the farmers who are currently partying ways with $2 500 to dry a tonne of maize using privately-owned dryers....

EVER since taking back our land, Zimbabwe has successfully increased the number of to***co farmers from only 4 500 white farmers in 2000 to 106 000 black farmers who are now producing 216 million kgs of the golden leaf. Output almost matching what white farmers were producing at their peak production in 2000 . This has been achieved in a period of less than 10yrs with some saying black people only really got involved in to***co farming six years ago....
