MAN who posed as woman in 16-month marriage outed by silky football skills

A man who posed as a woman during a 16-month marriage was exposed after putting a man-of-the-match performance in a women’s football match.

Morris Muchena lived with Andrew Chafa as husband and wife in Honde Valley, a picturesque rural part of Manicaland province. Muchena was known to her in-laws as Emily Muswere allegedly from Murehwa.

His mother-in-law said she regularly teased him about his masculinity, but he blind-sighted her with a “perfect ex*****on of household chores,” the Manica Post reported.

Muchena’s luck ran out when he played for his new village’s football team against a team from nearby Chisuko Village where he grew up.

“The nibble-footed Muchena mesmerised football fans with his moves and dexterity. With all the spotlight beamed on him, his childhood peers identified him and let the cat out of the bag,” the Post reported.

When confronted, Muchena – who played with a wig on – allegedly told stunned villagers that he was a member of a satanic cult which gave him powers to change into a woman during the night in order to satisfy his “husband” in bed.

Police do not believe his story, however. Instead they are investigating both men on public morality offences and engaging in a same s*x marriage which is prohibited under Zimbabwean law.

“It appears as though they were consenting parties in a homos*xual relationship,” Inspector Nobert Muzondo of Manicaland police said.

Muzondo did not say what charges the men are facing, adding that investigations were in progress.

A witness who was at the football match said: “We challenged him to remove his wig, but he refused. He said if he removed it he would disappear for 24 hours. We were frightened and waited for his husband, Andrew, to come.

“When Andrew arrived, he was shocked. He said he had not realised that he was sharing the same bed with a man. Andrew said it was the end of their marriage.”

Village head Madzinga, real name Webster Mhuru, said: “This is an abomination. Andrew got married to ‘Emily’ around November 2020. His family came to me and announced that they were welcoming a new bride into their home.

“I gave them the nod to proceed with the bride welcoming ceremony. I did not attend the ceremony, but I heard the celebrations went on very well. However, some questioned the new bride’s s*x. Murmurs of disapproval were coming from around the village, but there was no way to prove if ‘Emily’ was a man or a woman.

“The recent soccer match exposed him.”

The village heard said when Muchena’s relatives heard he had been seen at a football match they approached him.

“They asked to be led to the Chafa homestead to meet Muchena but I sent people to summon him to my homestead. When he came, dressed like a woman, he denied knowing his two relatives. However, after being interrogated, he later confessed that he is a man,” said Madzinga.

Muchena was reportedly a teacher in Harare but stopped going to work around the time he got married.

Chafa’s mother Irene Bendere said: “We were so happy when my son brought in his wife. We didn’t know that ‘Emily’ was a man for more than a year. However, I would often quiz my son about his wife’s masculinity. At times, I would even tease ‘Emily’ about her physical stature.”

Bendere said Muchena was almost the perfect daughter-in-law.

“My son says Morris would refuse to be caressed, claiming that he would contract cancer. He had no b***s and would wear padded bras,” Bendere said. -Manica Post

STRIVE MASIYIWA surpasses Patrice Motsepe to become the richest black man in Southern Africa

Masiyiwa's new title is thanks to the year-to-date price increase in the shares of his telecom company, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, and his smart-tech company, Cassava Smartech. As of Wednesday, Masyiwa’s net worth had increased from $2.7 billion to $4.4 billion, Billionaires.africa reported.

Forbe's authoritative rich list still has Masiyiwa behind Motsepe.

Both men have seen their wealth rocket since the start of the year.

Masiyiwa, 61, recently announced his retirement as chairman and director of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited and still retains his more than 50% stake in the company he listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in 1998.

In response to his announcement, Econet Wireless’ board of directors announced the appointment of Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa, one of Masiyiwa’s six children, to the board of the telecom company to propel the firm’s growth.

According to the board of directors, Elizabeth’s appointment will bring a wealth of experience, as she has worked in various organisations, spearheading investment and funding programs and human capital development.

Motsepe credits his early business education with exposure to his father's small spaza shop, and was a lawyer before moving into mining.

Masiyiwa's entrepreneur mother left Zimbabwe after it declared independence, and he trained as an electrical engineer.

Manufacturing magnate Aliko Dangote, from Nigeria, is the richest person on the African continent by a considerable margin, with a net worth calculated at close to $14 billion at the end of last year. His family features figures such as his great-grandfather Alhassan Dantata, once ranked the richest person in West Africa.

The richest people in Southern Africa are the dynastic families of Johann Rupert and Nicky Oppenheimer, who remain considerably wealthier than Motsepe and Masiyiwa.

Rupert and Oppenheimer are also typically the second and third richest people in Africa-wide lists, albeit well behind Dangote, with occasional competition (depending on rule share prices and exchange rates) from Egypts Nassef Sawiris, who is also a scion of a super-rich family. BI

ERIK TEN HAG Puts Five Manchester United Players Up For Sale After Learning Transfer Budget

Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for five first-team players this summer after the club told Erik ten Hag he can top up his transfer budget through player sales.

The Dutchman signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils last week and he has his work cut out at Old Trafford, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all set to leave the club on free transfers when their contracts expire.

Ten Hag has already identified weak spots in the squad and he wants to sign a centre-back, a right-back, at least one central midfielder and a striker to bolster the squad.

But ESPN report that United have given the Dutchman a budget of between £100m-£150m, which would not cover the additions he wants to make.

It’s therefore claimed that the Dutchman is willing to part with five players in order to top-up his transfer budget, with United’s board willing to release all additional funds from player sales.

United will therefore listen to offers for Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial, Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Ten Hag open to letting them all leave the club.

United signed Martial for an initial £36m, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s move from Crystal Palace could rise to £50m depending on clauses in his deal.

Those departures would be the two most controversial from the group, but Bailly, Jones and Telles are all keen to play first-team football. - Metro
