Anelle de Bruin (46), the wife of a prominent local farmer, accused of plotting to kill him in a staged "farm attack"The accused is charged with conspiracy to murder after she was arrested on 09 January 2025.
She made a brief appearance today, and the prosecution applied for postponement for further investigations as there are still some outstanding statements, photo albums and cell phone records. The matter will be back in court on 23 April 2025, with the accused still out on R2000 bail, with special conditions that she does not return to the farm and have supervised visits of their children.
She was arrested after police received a tip-off from a middleman that she had allegedly approached to find hitmen to kill her 56-year-old husband. According to police investigations, the accused had already paid the middleman a down payment and promised to pay the remainder after the killing was executed and insurance payouts made. She was allegedly recorded instructing that after shooting her husband at their farm, the hitmen must shoot the family's dogs and vehicle tyres to make it look like a "farm attack". She had allegedly also informed the middleman of how long would neighbouring farmers take to respond to the attack. It is alleged that she stood to inherit more than R50 million in the event of her husband's death.

SHURUGWI – Five bodies including a heavily pregnant woman and three relatives have been retrieved from a disused chrome pit in Shurugwi after a Honda Fit plunged into the 30m deep pit on Sunday evening.

Zvimba couple that went on the run after killing a 4-year-old minor left in its custody by a relative and were arrestedin South Africa after being rounded up by fellow Zimbabweans are to be extradited to zim for trial.
John Zvivi and Lister Sibanda, allegedly killed their four-year-old niece, who was identified by police as Princess Shoko.
They stashed the baby's body and dumped it along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, in Kuwadzana, before fleeing to South Africa.

A Zimbabwean woman has been arrested after allegedly throwing a baby from a moving vehicle on the R101 road in Pretoria.
Witnesses were left in shock as the baby hit the ground while the vehicle sped away.
Police have since tracked down and arrested the woman, but what led to this shocking act? Sources claim she was in a state of panic, believing she was being kidnapped and trying to escape. However, it turns out the driver was not a thug, and her fears may have been based on confusion rather than reality.

Ngwenya, an illegal immigrant working as a bricklayer, is accused of attacking Lebang with a sharp object.
Police found her in a pool of blood and rushed her to Letlhakane Primary Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Two weeks before the murder, Ngwenya posted a troubling message in a Letlhakane Facebook group, venting about his frustrations with Batswana women.
His post read: “They say we’re not nice, but you don’t consider that Batswana girls take us for granted. I’m speaking with a painful heart.”
Lebang, the woman he allegedly murdered, responded to his post, hinting at underlying tensions.
She wrote: “Ask him to explain what he did for things to end up this way.”
When another woman accused him of abandoning his family to pursue local women, Ngwenya angrily replied: “I’ll show you who I am.”
Ngwenya is expected to appear in court soon.
