As families gather for the festive season, Ubuntu Culture Night is set to return to Bulawayo on 20 December 2025 at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music, featuring performances by Black Diva, Nobuntu, Mahlaba, Gog’ Bekezela, Bhila, Maluka, Ihawu Lesizwe and Thaluso Da Poet, with Orbert Dube returning as master of ceremonies.

The annual event is built on the African philosophy of Ubuntu and aims to celebrate Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage while creating a platform for local artistes who often struggle to access sustained visibility, funding and marketing support.

One of the major highlights of Ubuntu Culture Night Bulawayo will be Black Diva’s first performance in the city. The award-winning singer has gained national recognition following the success of her hit single “Thilo Lilo”, which went viral and has recorded over one million views on YouTube.

⚫️ Ubuntu Culture Night will take place from 6pm till late, with tickets priced at US$10 for General Admission and US$15 for VIP. Tickets are available at Video Eazy, corner 9th Avenue and Robert Mugabe Way, while CBD delivery can be arranged by contacting +263 777 023 079.

⚫️ In addition to live performances, Ubuntu Culture Night Bulawayo will include a fashion show highlighting traditional and contemporary African-inspired designs.

Zim Hip Hop Awards Best Live winner Noluntu J is set to headline the upcoming show, leading an all-star line-up that includes Vuyo Brown, Bhila, Mlue Jay, Msiz’kay and kwaito artist Mzistozz Mfanafuthi, with indications that more acts are expected to be added as the event draws closer.

⚫️ Tickets for the event are already on sale, with general admission priced at US$5 and VIP tickets going for US$10, making the show accessible to a wide audience.

⚫️ The show is slated for December at 18 at the Bulawayo Theatre.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 | 📍 LIVE from Bulawayo – Historic moment at Montrose Studios.

Today marks the official commissioning of the newly revamped ZBC Montrose Studios, now fully modernised and poised to strengthen Zimbabwe’s broadcasting landscape.

The upgraded facility will house a brand-new specialised education broadcaster Luzibo designed to deliver lessons, cultural knowledge and edutainment straight to learners and communities across urban and rural Zimbabwe.

The commissioning is underway with Minister Jenfan Muswere, Deputy Minister Dr Omphile Marupi, and a host of government officials, community leaders, artists and stakeholders present to witness this landmark moment. Their presence underscores the government’s commitment to education, culture and inclusive media.

This upgrade is part of ZBC’s broader push towards modernised, decentralised content delivery that reflects the cultural diversity and educational aspirations of the Zimbabwean people.

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is set to widen its radio footprint with the commissioning of its seventh station, Luzibo Radio, this Friday at the newly modernised Montrose Studios in Bulawayo.

The station has assembled a strong presenting team blending experience and fresh talent. Former Skyz Metro FM personalities Teseletso Matjaka (Mma-Nare) and Charity Chikara headline the lineup, joined by Nkosile Khumalo (uZinzie wakoKhumalo), Pronellah Lunga (MissP-uMaMgcu), Emmerson Ndlovu (The Smart Pantsula) and Kalanga Prince Nehemiah Sibanda, among others set to shape the station’s identity.

I see a woman trying to cover up her pain, she is ashamed of the scars caused by her abuser.The abused are the ones who are always left feeling ashamed instead of the other way round. "Bazothini abantu" when they see me with this wound, makeup will only cover the scar or wound but not the pain.

And get better marks. He touched my hair, my lips then my breasts. I tried to scream but the words would not come out. I tried to fight but my strength left my body. The worst thing is, he recorded the whole thing on his phone and told me l will go viral if I utter a word to anyone. My innocence gone at 16........

Now I stand not just for myself but for every girl whose dreams were used as bait. For every woman scrolling through a dating app, unaware of the trap disguised as romance. For every survivor who still carries the memory like a scar beneath the skin.We are not alone.
We are not silent.
And we are not done fighting.Because human trafficking doesn’t always begin in dark alleyways,it often starts with a match, a message, a promise.
So we expose it.
We name it.
We drag it out of the shadows and into the light.

It began like a dream — a simple swipe right, a promise of fame, adventure, and a life painted in gold. He dazzled me with pictures of lavish trips to Dubai, London, Paris. I believed the fantasy. I believed him.

But behind the glitter was a trap.

What felt like opportunity turned into captivity. The silence was heavy, the fear was real, and the escape felt impossible. Yet here I am — standing, speaking, fighting.

My body was caged, but my voice refuses to be.

Today, I speak for myself and for every woman whose story has been buried in shame, fear, and violence. Online platforms are now hunting grounds, and too many dreams are being turned into nightmares.

During these 16 Days of Activism, we rise together.
We expose the lies.
We protect the vulnerable.
We break the chains of human trafficking hidden behind online dating.
We refuse to be silent.

Enough is enough.
Our voices are louder than their threats.
Our stories will save others.
