Fellow citizens,

It is with utmost sadness and regret that we receive the news of the passing of His Excellency President Dr. Hage G Geingob, the President of the Republic of Namibia, who died this morning in Windhoek, Namibia.

We have lost a true friend, a liberation icon, a distinguished diplomat, a senior African Statesman, and an elder brother, and at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with his widow, Madame Monica Geingos and family, the Namibian people, and the entire African Continent.

May His Soul Rest In Peace.

Apostle Paul Moses writes;

WHERE ARE THE GREAT POLITICIANS TODAY?

In the days of my youth, I recall the fervor that accompanied the oratory of politicians on radio or in public assemblies—a sensation that was nothing short of extraordinary.

We were in the company of statesmen who articulated their commitment to the welfare of the people and the prosperity of the nation. No echoes of character assassination or insults marred the political discourse. We reveled in their gatherings, eager to absorb promises of plentiful meals, the assurance that our children would not endure hardship, and the prospect of unencumbered enjoyment. As these politicians spoke, one could sense the arrival of a messiah, offering hope and encouragement in unison.

At the mention of figures such as Fredrick Chiluba, Levy Mwanawasa, Vernon Mwanga, Godfrey Miyanda, and others of that era, the anticipation of hearing a political luminary on a podium was palpable. I believe that era centered on the politics of ideas and our collective development as a nation. Despite not all promises being fulfilled, there was a concerted effort to instill belief in a radiant future.

Where are these venerable statesmen today? We yearn for politics fueled by ideas, devoid of character assassination and insults. What political legacy shall we bequeath to the forthcoming generations? The youth, regrettably, misconstrue politics as a realm of discord and verbal affronts.

I vividly recall an occasion at Mwansabombwe during the '90s when Late President Fredrick Chiluba descended with a chopper for a political spectacle. From the podium, he articulated visions of transformative change, a future where bread would be paired with eggs, and three square meals would be a daily reality. In that moment, I envisioned a future as a politician, aspiring to contribute to the welfare of the less privileged.

Where are the statesmen today to inspire and enlighten the younger generation that politics transcends insults, encapsulating a realm of profound ideas?

To the esteemed politicians of Zambia, I implore you not to consign us to the nostalgia of yesteryears. Demonstrate unwavering leadership and integrity; exhibit your love for the country through mutual support. A genuine politician is a Servant of the People and the Country.

I have much on my mind—allow me to conclude here for now.

A FIVE YEAR JAIL TERM AWAITS THE BRUTAL 'STEP MUM' ACCUSED OF TORTURING HER FOUR YEAR OLD 'SON'

BARELY two years after a Zambia Air Force officer was jailed six years for torturing her 11-year-old niece, a military officer’s wife has been arrested for allegedly inflicting pain on her innocent four-year-old step son using a knife and whip.

The alleged brutal assault happened while the child’s father was away on duty in Zambezi.

Yesterday, a heart aching video went viral on Facebook in which the visibly bruised victim was narrating to his teacher how her ‘mother’, whom police have identified as Langiwe Ngosa, 29, has allegedly been beating him using different weapons.

In the clip, the child, clad in a school uniform, has fresh and dry bruises on his hand, face, back, on the stomach, the leg while his swollen right hand is also bandaged because of an injury on the fingers.

Below is part of conversation between the teacher and the conspicuously withdrawn boy, who told her teacher that his dad is a soldier who usually goes for work.

Teacher: “What happened here [on the bruised lower eye]?”
Child: “Its mummy, who beat[en] me”.
Teacher: “Who beat you on the [bruised] forehead?
Child: “Its mummy who beat me”.
Teacher: “Show me your [hurt] hand, what happened here?”
Child: “Mummy’s beat[en] me”.
Teacher: Is it paining”
Child: “Yes”.
Teacher: What did mummy use to hurt you?
Child: “with a knife”.
Teacher: “Where else did mummy beat you?” the teacher asked before the child showed her his wound marked stomach, back and thighs.

“Come I help you dress up my darling, teacher loves you okay?” the female teacher told the boy and hugged the boy whose face, in accordance with the Child Code Act, should have ideally been hidden.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said in a statement Ms Ngosa of house number MC2A 78 Appolo Barack has been arrested for allegedly assaulting the child.

“Marcopolo Police post received a report of Assault on a Child in which Christopher Bwalya, a Zambia military police officer who reported having brought in Male juvenile aged four who was assaulted by his step mother,” Mr Hamoonga said.
He said the victim sustained old and fresh beatings marks all over his body, a fresh cut on the right-hand forehead and left cheeck.

“This occurred between May 2023 and August 05, 2023, at around 12:00 hours at house number MC2A 78 Appolo Baracks in Lusaka,” Mr Hamoonga said.

Brief facts of the matter are that the victim was left in custody of Ms Ngosa by his father Justine Bwalya, a military officer who is in Zambezi district on duty.

“The child was being beaten and abused by the step mother and this led to the military police at Appolo to report the matter to the police. The suspect has since been arrested and detained in custody.

“A police medical form was issued, and the child is now in the custody of the uncle in Chawama compound,” Mr Hamoonga.

In January 2021, the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court jailed ZAF lieutenant Mildred Luwaile of ZAF Twin Palm six years imprisonment for torturing her 11-year-old niece using spoons and knives.

The minimum mandatory sentence for assaulting a child is five years in jail.

We were honoured to host the leadership of the Anglican Church this afternoon at State House where we deliberated and exchanged views on a number of issues to better the living standards of our citizens.

We are indebted to the wise counsel received and their appreciation of our efforts to transform our economy through policies such as free education, increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) debt restructuring programme, student allowances, employment of thousands of our youths in education, health, and defence and security wings, among others.

We further explained some of our targeted policy interventions in the areas of mining, agriculture that will include irrigation, value addition, market access for farmers and the need to increase our output in harvest.

We reiterated the need to partner with the church in development and in promotion of Christian values for our population.

HAPPY BLESSED 12TH ANNIVERSARY GCM
30|07|2023

GCM celebrates 12 years of God’s Grace, favor, soul winning and God’s love.

The Bible Says, “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18, ESV)

Man’s judgment is not God’s judgment, so do not listen to any man who opposes your God given vision. Be careful whom you listen to because Jealous and envy has a language. Beware of people who just come in your life to receive and once they receive, they go and start insulting you. Some come in the name of helping you and yet they are just helping themselves, using you for their own personal benefits, such that when they are blessed financially, they become so pompous that you cannot even understand them.

Are you a Pastor? I encourage you to remain focused in your calling and ministry. Do not listen to jealous people who pretend to love you and yet they are busy working against you and delaying your God given destiny.
Christ was called possessed and an evil man. If you see these things happening, just know that your season of greatness is just around the corner and do not waste time responding to such people.

We celebrate 12 years as GCM family, all we can say is Ebenezer.
The Lord said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19, ESV)

You are all invited for the Thanksgiving Service on 30th July, 2023 at the Freedom Arena-Gloryland.
