Cassia Sharpley crowned Miss Namibia 2022
Miss Namibia 2022 was held on Friday, August 12 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino where Cassia Sharpley from Windhoek was crowned the new queen. She will represent Namibia at Miss Universe 2022 or Miss World 2022, to be held later this year.
Cassia is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care (advanced life support). As a poverty eradication activist, Cassia established the Honey Comb Haven Foundation to help the less fortunate members of her community.
Also at the finale, 26-year-old Leoné Van Jaarsveld from Swakopmund was adjudged first runner-up while 23-year-old Diana Andimba from Windhoek finished as second runner-up.
Former Miss Universe from Namibia, Michelle McLean, hosted the event with Namibian actor Adriano Visagie. Miss Namibia 2021 Chelsi Shikongo crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
Miss Namibia 2022 is expected to represent her country at Miss Universe 2022. The winner gets to choose which pageant she wants to compete at while the first runner-up gets to represent Namibia at the pageant the winner doesn’t choose to go to.
