Chilemena who was part of the FAZ delegation to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, is now left to follow football through live radio and television commentaries.
A distinguished commentator himself in his heyday, Chilemena also founded Telesport Academy, a launchpad of many football careers notably Kennedy Mudenda who went on to play for Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes' Buchizya Mfune.
"Yes it is true that I have lost my sight in both eyes. Doctors diagnosed me with diabetes, which I had in my body for many years. By the time the doctors tried to resuscitate my sight was very late.
"But that has not taken away my love for the beautiful game. I still follow football through the sense of hearing, commentaries, same way people used to follow us as commentators with the late Dennis Liwewe," he said in an interview from his Chalala residence.
He was happy to recount his formative years in the broadcasting industry when he joined the then Zambia Broadcasting Services (ZBS), the forerunner to the present day ZNBC.
