Good morning everyone, it is with heavy and saddened hearts that i announce to you all the passing on of the father to our leader MG Regis chavula, as the youths and the friends to our leader lets find time to mourn the late dad with our leader. It is so hard that one would lose a parent in these moments when they need him most. Nevertheless, As the youth department at kabunda SDA church,we would like to send our heartfelt condolences to our beloved leader and to the berieved family. May the good Lord confort them in this trying moments.RIP😭😭😭😭😭

*Christ’s Victory Over Death*
_Lesson 7_
_Memory Text: Revelation 1:17, 18_

*SABBATH*: “Kill the Savior & the world dies!”, Satan thought. But Christ’s death breathe new life into the world & His resurrection power gives us the hope of eternal life. Death is swallowed up in victory in Christ. Without this hope, we’re of all people the most pitiable (1 Cor. 15:16-18). Christ’s resurrection is crucial to our faith (1 Cor. 2:2). Also, why is there a resurrection if the dead are already with God?

*SUNDAY*: If he could, Satan would have held Christ in the tomb. He incited Judas to betray Christ & the chief priests & elders to call for His death. Peter denied Him three times & the disciples left Him after His arrest. Satan seemed to have won; his tomb sealed by a stone & guarded (Luke 22:3, 4; John 13:26, 27, Matt. 26:56, 59, 69-75, 27:20, 57-66, 12MR, p. 412). But Christ is risen! (Matt. 16:21; 17:22; 20:17).

*MONDAY*: The Cross & the empty tomb, the very instruments Satan had devised to hold Christ & the world captive brought us victory! Satan was in fury when his angels fled at sight of God’s angels, at the tomb of Jesus (DA, p. 782). Futile was the effort of the guards. Jesus foretold that He had power to lay down His life & take it back (Matt. 28:1-6, 11-15; John 10:17, 18; 11:25, Rom. 8:11, Acts 2:24, Gal. 1:1).

*TUESDAY*: Christ returned to His Father with the trophies of victory; many arose with Him. His death & resurrection were marked by an earthquake (Matt. 27:51-53, 28:2). The risen saints stand for the dead in Christ who would be raised up at the final resurrection & were proof to many Jews to believe in Christ’s resurrection & accept Him (Acts 6:7, DA, p. 786). The risen saints invalidated the lies of the priests.

*WEDNESDAY*: Over 500 people bore witness of the resurrection of Christ. Magdalene & other women were told that Jesus had risen. He showed Himself to Peter, Cleopas & other on the road to Emmaus, & in the Upper Room (John 20:11-29, 1 Cor. 15:5-8, Matt. 28:1, 5-7; Mark 16:1-7, 12, Luke 24:1-11, 13-53, John 21:1-23, Acts 1:1-11, 9:1-9). Thomas doubted & believed only after meeting Christ (John 20:29).

*THURSDAY:* In ancient Israel, the first handful of grain was a pledge of the coming harvest (it showed the quality of the products), so the resurrection of Christ was a pledge of the resurrection of the saints of God (1 Cor. 15:20, Deut. 26:1-11). The offering of “the first fruits” was a recognition of God as the Provider (Exod. 23:19, 34:26, Lev. 2:11-16). Christ is the “first fruits” of the dead (John 20:20, 27).

*FRIDAY*: In this era, there are many antiresurrection apologetics who deny that Christ arose from death. Some say the disciples daydreamt; others say Jesus only went into coma & came back to life after He was brought down from the cross; some posit that Jesus had a twin brother who was mistaken to be Him. The historical evidence of Christ’s resurrection is so strong to refute. Christ will resurrect us!

_Eastern inclusive language- A fraction of a day stands for a whole day. Jesus used this language to talk about His death & resurrection ((Matt. 12:39, 40)._

_Sealed tomb- The actions of the priests in putting a big stone on the tomb of Jesus and assigning guards for it shows how afraid they were concerning Him resurrecting. They bribed the guards to be quiet after Jesus resurrected._

_Marks of suffering- Jesus came out of the grave with a glorified human body, but He was still carrying the marks of His crucifixion. Paul was ready to carry on his glorified body the marks of his suffering (2 Cor. 12:7). But this does not mean all the redeemed will be be raised with the marks of their own sufferings._

📌 “ ‘It is finished’ ” (John 19:30) and “ ‘He is risen’ ” (Matt. 28:6,NKJV) are two of the most meaningful statements ever made. How do they complement each other within salvation history? What great hope is found in these words for us?

📌 At first the religious leaders wanted guards at the tomb to keep the disciples from stealing the body of Jesus. Later they paid the guards to say that the disciples did steal the body. How does this account help to reveal the reality of Christ’s empty tomb, and why is that empty tomb so important to us as Christians?
