IN A world where loyalty is often tested, Chipolopolo and Saudi Arabian Al-Fayha star striker Fashion Sakala shares a heartwarming tale of love, resilience, and unwavering support.

His journey with his wife, Violet, defies the odds and sets a powerful example of true partnership.

Sakala, who met Violet at the tender age of 16, reminisced about their early days with fondness.

Violet was the daughter of his teacher, a woman passionate about sports, who frequently sent Sakala to her home on errands.

“The mother was my teacher, ise tenze onamo madam ( I saw my future wife). The mother was very interested in sports and I was captain of our school," recalled Sakala.

The bond between the two young people blossomed from these early encounters, with Violet becoming Sakala's first and only girlfriend.

Despite Sakala coming from a humble background, their love story continued to unfold beautifully.

He proudly shared how he supported his wife through her education, eventually seeing her graduate as a nurse.

“Every time I went to see my father, I would visit her too because by that time she was still in the village. I took her to school, she did nursing. So she's a graduate, she's a nurse,” he said while beaming with pride.

During the Fashion Sakala tournament in Chipata, the footballer revealed that many of his friends doubted his decision to invest in Violet's education, warning him that she might be tempted away by sugar daddies.

“I remember when I was taking her to school, my friends said that they will sn**ch her from me. Then I said if school fails me, this one is mine I will get,” he recalled.

He shared this personal anecdote as a motivational message to young players and couples alike to remain committed to their partners....

At age 20, 21+ are not easy , you lose friends, facing financial crisis, having dreams but cannot fulfill them, you fall, you fail, you hit reality, make mistakes , you lose yourself .

An audit of the country's external debt has revealed significant financial discrepancies and irregularities that include conflicting figures, overpricing and weaknesses in the contraction of debt.

The audit is for the financial years ended 31st December 2006 to 2022.

The audit has revealed weaknesses in the contraction of external debt with the government signing seven contracts in amounts totaling over 958 million dollars to finance various projects from 2014 to 2019.

Other notable discrepancies pertain to the contract for the supply of school requisites between the Ministry of Education and Mikalile Trading Company at a total contract sum of 402 million United States dollars on 27th October 2017.

The audit report states that the contract was over priced by 60 Million United States dollars, with interest that was supposed to be over U$ 78 Million Dollars, pegged at over 138 million dollars.

In the contract for the supply of police uniforms and riot gear amounting to 70 million United States dollars under the Ministry Home Affairs and Internal Security the report revealed that supplier was paid despite not supplying items valued at 4.5 Million
dollars as at 31st January 2024.

And, Acting Auditor General RON MWAMBWA, who released the Report said Zambia's External Public Debt increased from Over One billion United States dollars in 2006 to 14 billion United States Dollars in 2022.

He said from 2014 to 2020 the country recorded a significant increase in external public debt stock from 30 percent to 70 percent of GDP .

Dr MWAMBA said the debt stock reduced in 2022 from 70 percent to 49 percent of GDP.

He said the long span in the audit period for the audit of external public debt was necessitated by the need to have a verified position of the national external debt amid the various conflicting figures as well as show borrowing patterns over the years.

This is contained in a statement released to ZNBC news by Office of the Auditor General

BE A GRADUATE WITH CLASS , KNOWLEDGE AND ENTREPRENEURAL SKILLS

I have told people many times that, graduating from university isn't a guarantee that money will be flowing just anyhow. You need to invest the knowledge you learnt into something rather than waiting for someone to employ you.

It is surprisingly sad to see a so called graduate failing to apply the knowledge and concepts they gained while in school.

It's not who graduates but who applies what is learnt. You can graduate and still be a fool or miserable. While a dropout applies the little they learnt and start funding their venture .

My advice is don't just be a graduate who is going to wait for someone to employ you , but be a graduate who will employ him or herself using the knowledge acquired because everything you decide to do requires knowledge of it.

No one is coming to save you from your misery, you are all alone so manup , switch your mind to reality💪👏

FR MUKOSA TO REPORT TO POLICE AS CALL-OUT HAS NOT BEEN WITHDRAWN

Lusaka- Monday, 8th April 2024

Lawyers for Catholic Priest, Andrew Chewe Mukosa, Makebi Zulu Advocates, have stated that their client will present himself to Copperbelt Province Police Division.

On Sunday, Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, stated the Command had withdrawn the police call-out while Ministry of Information & Media, Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana claimed the call-out was fake.

But Lawyers for Fr Mukosa say there is no official communication to cancel or withdraw the call-out.

"We have been retained by and act for Fr. Andrew Chewe Mukosa."

"Reference is made to the above captioned matter and to your notice to employer dated the 6th, instant requiring our client to attend before you for purposes of interviews relating to investigations at the Copperbelt Division Police headquarters' second floor in room 55."

"We write to advise, that our client will be in attendance accompanied by ourselves for purposes of the said interviews albeit not at 10:00 but at 11:30 to allow our client as well as ourselves travel for the same."

"Further note that all correspondence and communications relating to Fr. Chewe Mukosa in this matter should be directed to us."

Catholic faithfulls in Ndola have threatened to join Fr Mukosa when he reports to the police for interrogations.
