BRIDE PRICE DEMAND GOES WRONG

A man of Rufunsa aged 42 has committed süicide after his mother-in-law confronted him at his house over a balance of bride price amounting to K4,500 out of K10,000 he was charged in 2014.

Chansi Ngoma is alleged to have taken his life in his bedroom while his mother-in-law waited outside the house under the belief that he had gone to get the money.

But after noticing that he had taken long to come out of the bedroom, his wife, Maria Ngoma, followed him and found him gasping for air as he was trying to hang himself after he had earlier taken an overdose of assorted medicines.

According to his wife’s relative, the victim only managed to pay K5,500 of the bride price, which he was charged in 2014.

Bridget Bowa, sister of the victim’s mother-in-law, said on the fateful day she accompanied her sister to the deceased’s house because she wanted to go and demand for the bride price balance.

“While we were still talking, our son-in-law, who had been quiet the whole time, just went to his bedroom. We thought he went to get the money, but after about 15 minutes, his wife followed him and found him hanging to the roof gasping for air with a lot of medicine and empty packs on the floor. We rushed him to the hospital and he died there,” she said.

“BE ON Alert 🚨 Airtel money scammers are now blocking sim accounts 😩

It’s high time Airtel Zambia and Zicta Zambia becomes serious
Yesterday a scammer called me asking for my NRC number claiming that he is having some monies for me ,when I refused to give him my NRC number he went ahead insulting me and reporting my number for FRAUD and Zicta blocked my number from receiving or making calls neither messages 😩 more worse I wouldn’t access my Airtel money account 😭

ℹ called Airtel these guys are so unprofessional like very irritating imagine the only thing they would say is report the same number also by dialing *707 #
They were not even interested in getting the information concerning the same phone number but they were more interested in my details than of the scammer 😩 which is worrying and not helping the public!
Even if I report the number ,the same person will also call and complain , his number will also be unblocked and continue scamming people at the end of the day 😩

Went to their offices in town they referred me to zicta 😵
Zicta also referred me back to them though zicta was helpful but the way they are also handling the process is worrisome because they’re just getting information about the number which is blocked not asking about the number which reported your number 🤮
Kaya what’s happening with the whole situation cause it doesn’t seem right to me 😦

One day they will just run away with our ma k4
