I identified a nice location for breakfast this morning at a Livingstone Hotel only for the waiter to warn me the table was reserved for a Minister. ‘Please, find another table, Sir,’ he politely asked me while showing me the reservation display that I had not seen. I moved my plate and juice to another table without his help.

Two minutes later, the Minister walks in with his aide, the waiter quickly showing him the reserved table. Before he could make himself comfortable, the Minister saw me, ‘Hey, I want to move over to that table. I want to join him.’ The reservation signage was moved to my table as the Minister walked over to get his meal.

At times we fight people and even malign friends to access an opportunity that we think is reserved only for us. But those who know positioning understand that opportunities should never be cause to bewitch others. If you position yourself well and have developed capacity to handle opportunity, opportunity will follow and find you wherever you go; even in the den of lions!
