Drive-by robbers sn**ch K565,000 from Chinese man
A CHINESE national in Lusaka was on Thursday afternoon left badly bruised as he held on to a bag of money that was sn**ched from him by drive-by criminals at Kabulonga's Central Mall.
The stolen bag contained K$30,000 and K30,000 respectively amounting to K565,000 altogether.
The incident unfolded on Thursday when Chen Xiaobin Frank, aged 42, of Roma Ngwewi road, visited a local bank at Acacia Park to withdraw money which he intended to deposit into a business friend's account at Stanbic Bank.
When Chen reached Kabulonga Centro Mall, fate took an unfortunate turn as he parked his light blue Toyota Allion.
Suddenly, four criminals driving a vehicle with no number plate, swiftly approached Chen's car and parked next to it.
As the victim stepped out of his vehicle, clutching the bag of money, one of the assailants forcibly grabbed the bag from his grip.
In desperation to keep the money, Chen held on to the bag tightly, even as the robbers cruised out of the premises into their getaway car.
The victim was then dragged by the fast-moving vehicle for a few meters after the sheer speed of the robbers' escape ultimately proved too much to handle, leaving him with bruises on his hands, legs, and right cheek.

"This happened [on]July 6, 2023 around 12:00 hours at Kabulonga Centro Mall in woodlands area of Lusaka. A Police medical form was issued, scene visited and a docket of case has been opened. Investigations are ongoing," stated Hamoonga.
