PF cadre arrested for theft of TVs at Lungu’s house!

Following the Burglary and Theft that occurred on 9th August, 2022 at the Former President, His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu's residence where two Television Sets were stolen, the Zambia Police Service had instituted vigorous investigations into the matter.
I wish to update the nation that on Saturday 13th August, 2022, Police managed to trace one known Patriotic Front (PF) Party Cadre Angel Chipasha of Chipata Compound who was linked to the theft. Police raided his home but drew a blank because he had shifted during the day to unknown location. However Police managed to trace him in Ten Miles where he had relocated.
On Sunday 14th August, 2022, officers raided his new place and successfully managed to arrest the suspect and in the process recovered one of the stolen Television. Upon interrogation, he alleged that a colleague of his Emmanuel Bwalya, commonly known as Emma also a PF Cadre, had the other Television set.
The two suspects are known to have been frequenting the residence of the former Head of State.
Police is aware that Emmanuel Bwalya is currently on the Copperbelt where he is suspected to have sold the other Television Set.
We would like to appeal to members of the public who could have bought the Television or may have been approached to purchase the stolen Television to report to the nearest Police Station.
Failure to do so may lead to the arrest and prosecution of any person who will be found in Possession of the Stolen Television.
Police have since launched a manhunt for Emmanuel Bwalya so that he is brought to book and possibly recover the remaining Television.
Investigations are on-going and more details will be availed to members of the public accordingly.

THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced the mutual separation of its Chief Electoral Officer, Patrick Nshindano from the Commission effective on Sunday, August 7, this year.

ECZ corporate affairs manager Patricia Luhanga said the agreement was reached by both parties in a commission meeting yesterday.

"Mr Nshindano served the Commission since August 2019 and has been instrumental in a number of innovations that have seen the commission transform and deliver credible elections," she said.

Ms Luhanga has advised all electoral stakeholders and the general public that the Commission will notify them of consequent appointments once they are effected.

Zambia Army Commander promotes players
Army Commander Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi has promoted Green Buffaloes Women Club players who featured in the just ended Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where the Copper Queens qualified to the World Cup and won the third place.

Speaking yesterday at Army Headquarters in Lusaka when he met the players, Lt Gen Alibuzwi commended them for a splendid performance displayed at the tournament and urged them not to relent as they prepare for the world cup next year.

He assured the players of Command’s support in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Championship League/COSAFA Qualifiers to be held in South Africa this month.

Giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the newly promoted soldiers, Zambia Women Football Team Captain Banda Barbara, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, thanked the Army Commander for recognising their hard work.

She thanked her teammates for qualifying to the World Cup and winning bronze medal in the just ended WAFCON. She further urged them to maintain high levels of discipline as they prepare for the World Cup.

And mildfieder Lungu Ireen, who has been promoted to the rank of Corporal said the Green Buffaloes Women team is geared for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Championship League/COSAFA Qualifiers.

Corporal Lungu thanked the fans for the massive support they rendered during the WAFCON in Morocco, and urged them to continue with the same spirit.

Those promoted include Nali Hazel, Banda Barbara, Musesa Agness, Mulenga Anita, Tembo Martha, Mweemba Lushom, Lungu Ireen and Nanyangwe Natasha.

Mazabuka pupil found dead hours after leaving to attend funeral

A GRADE 12 female pupil of Mazabuka's St Patrick’s Secondary School in Southern Province has been found dead hours after she left home to attend a funeral.

According to witnesses, the body of Nelly Sakala aged 17, was found half naked dumped near the old Salvation Army Church within Mazabuka in the early hours of today.

Her grandmother said Nelly left home last evening to go and attend a funeral in the company of two unknown young men.

Close to her half naked body, a hoody, headsock and shirt where found suggesting she may have been r***d before being murdered.

Police are yet to comment on the matter.

A 32-YEAR-OLD woman of Ndola has lost her life after the vehicle she was driving was hit into excessively by a Rosa bus.

Ireen Samboko sustained a head injury, fractured legs and arms and died on the spot after the accident.

The accident is said to have occured when the driver of the Rosa bus who was driving along the Ndola- kitwe dual carriage way from North to South and due to excessive speed hit into the Rav 4 driven from South to North on the Ndola-kitwe carriage way.

Acting Copperbelt Commanding officer Sharon Zulu who confirmed the incident with Mwebantu said that the accident occured on the Ndola- kitwe dual carriage opposite Avic of Baluba area yesterday.

She said involved were two motor vehicles being a Toyota RAV4 registration BCD 4814 which was extensively damaged from the front part and being driven by Ms Samboko of Bupingulo Road Kansenshi in Ndola.

"Also involved was a Mitsubishi Rosa bus registration AOB 634 also extensively damaged. The same was being driven by an unknown driver. Unknown in the sense that when the accident occured, with the bus carrying passengers, the same were rushed to different hospitals being Ndola, Kitwe and Luanshya and so in the confusion , the driver could not be identified," she said.

Ms Zulu said the car being driven by Ms Samboko was carrying three other passengers being Nawa Mwiya aged 58 who sustained a deep cut, Kabolwe Mumba aged 55 who sustained fractured legs and Rachel Luchama aged 22 who complained of body pains.

: LAWYER DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT

YOUNG promising Lawyer Thandiwe Ireen has died in a road traffic accident on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriageway. Ireen was in company of her daughter when the unfortunate incident happened.

The daughter has survived but is currently battling for her life in Hospital.

POLICE in Lukulu district of Western Province have arrested and charged Economic and Equity Party (EEP) president Chilufya Tayali for the offence of Defamation of the President.

Tayali was this morning transported from Lusaka to Lukulu district in Western Province on allegations of Defamation.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says Tayali who is Tayali aged 47 of house number 38 Ngwezi road in Roma township of Lusaka is alleged to have published defamatory remarks on his page on May 13 last week.

"Tayali has been charged and arrested for the offence of Defamation of the President Contrary to Section 69 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.Brief facts of the matter are that the accused did publish defamatory remarks on his face book page on 13th May, 2022. The suspect has been detained in Police custody and will appear in court soon," he said.

CHARLES KAKOMA APOLOGIES TO HH AS HE REJOINS THE UPND

More former members of the ruling United Party for National Development have drift back to the party.

The latest politicians to rejoin the UPND are Mr. Charles Kakoma, the former party spokesperson and Captain Cosmas Moono.

The newly defected members were welcomed by party secretary general, Batuke Imenda in Lusaka today. Speaking during the welcoming back media briefing of the duo, Mr Imenda has challenged party members criticizing him for bringing in old members to show him a new formula of growing the party.

East Park Mall accountant survives assassination attempt!

A Lusaka accountant on Saturday survived an abduction after his former workmate allegedly hired three men to help carry out what he believes was an assassination on him as they were after his heart, which they intended to sell to unknown persons.

Zambia Police, who have since arrested two suspects, are however treating the case as that of aggravated robbery.

Pascal Bwalya, 37, an accountant at East Park Mall and a resident of Matero, is alleged to have been abducted by three men, including his friend identified as Mike Chushi, who is on the run together with another suspect.

The men were allegedly after Mr Bwalya’s heart, which they wanted to sell to some waiting buyer.

Narrating the botched abduction yesterday, Mr Bwalya, who said he was still shaken and traumatised by the entire experience, said he knew Chushi in 2017, when they worked together.

Mohale won’t get a cent from Somizi as he has failed to prove that he was married to him.

Somizi revealed that his marriage to Mohale was not registered.

Mohale wants half of everything Somizi has but he is failing to prove that he was in customary marriage with Somizi. Mohale is also failing to prove that Somizi paid Lobala for him.

Mohale cannot rely on television content to prove that he was married to him. He needs to provide evidence in paper if evidence does not exist Somizi can always say it was content for TV.

Another interesting factor is that Mohale’s family allegedly gave Somizi his lobola money back. Mohale’s family never even approved of their marriage in the first place.

Youths plunge in s*x at Blue Water Dam

IT IS around 18:30 hours on a Wednesday evening, young people, both girls and boys, are seen flocking to Blue Water Dam. Some are holding hands a clear sign that they are in s*xual relationships.

Youths from Kuku, Misisi and Chawama townships have one place to chill from and share intimacy with their partners – Blue Water Dam.

Just a few meters from where the writer is standing, two girls are seen chatting. After 15 minutes, three young men aged around 18 years join the two girls and they immediately start exchanging hugs. A couple separates from the rest and sits beside the dam.
Within a few minutes the girl sits on the boy’s laps and the two start kissing.

A look around the dam premises shows more than 30 youths mostly in pairs, a boy and girl. Other boys and girls are seen in groups smoking and drinking beer while listening to music using some blue tooth speakers.

As it gets darker around 19:00 hours the couples get more intimate while others continue drinking and smoking.

According to Mr Kamusang’ombe, the trend by the youths is not new. “To us, we are no longer saying anything to these children. We are tired.

They come from within Chawama and Misisi and other surrounding areas just to meet with their boyfriends and girlfriends. We have seen and we see a lot, and what you have seen now my sister is nothing compared to what we see almost every night.

“These children you are seeing have turned this dam into a s*x den and they have turned it into lodges.

Government releases $20,000 to repatriate remains of Zambian student who died in China!

Government has released $20,000 (about K344,000) to repatriate the remains of 25-year old Zambian student Sampa Mwenya, a student in civil engineering, who died in a motorbike accident in China.

Father to deceased Morgan Mwenya confirmed the development to Daily Revelation.

Mr Mwenya explained that government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has responded positively to the deceased family’s request to have his son’s body repartriated.

UTH maids steal, sell baby

POLICE in Lusaka have arrested two University Teaching Hospital (UTH) maids for stealing and selling a baby.

For a meagre K3,500, the two maids at the country's biggest referral hospital tossed away their mops, brooms and other cleaning utensils to stage a dramatic baby-stealing and selling operation.

Police have however withheld the identities of the two maids.

According to those privy to the incident, Precious Nkunika delivered a baby at the UTH on April 29, 2022 but unfortunately the child died on May 7.

Sympathetic to her loss, the two maids offered to compensate Precious with another newly-born baby whose mother was recuperating within the UTH.

While Precious waited for her deceased baby to be cremated, the two maids went to work with the objective of finding a replacement.

The duo then identified Dalitso Banda who had been recuperating in the UTH after giving birth as their suitable victim and carried out the theft.

However, a week later police have recovered the stolen baby from Kabanana in Lusaka and have arrested Precious, her mother and the two thieving maids.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the theft and arrests to journalists in Lusaka this morning.
