Depressed people joke and laugh. Sometimes they are most energetic in the group. Everyone has something they are struggling with. Just the magnitude differs. Give a listening ear. Be someone's safe space.
I have dipped in and out of depression a lot in the last 10 years. Which in turn has affected my mental health. One thing I have learnt through my therapist is how to look at things differently and learning to be more positive. What you tell yourself is more important than what anyone else can say to you. Don't be ashamed when you are in a dark place, it happens to everyone at some point in their lives. If you know someone struggling mentally or emotionally be their safe space. Don't sit there and judge. I have also learnt that success to me is having inner peace and a sound mind. That is something money can't buy. Your mental health is important. Pay attention to it. One day at a time. It gets better, I promise.
