ARCHITECTURE WORK FOR ITEZHI TEZHI YOUTH SKILLS CENTER APPROVED

In an efforts to ensure more youths access CDF Skills Bursary under CDF , the CDFC meeting held yesterday approved the architecture works for the proposed Itezhi Tezhi Skills Training Centre to be constructed under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to be in Nakabangwe Area.

The initial proposed design which will be financed by CDF beginning this year and over the coming years will have
• Administration block
• Ablution block
• Five (5) Classrooms
• Semi-detached workshop
• Boundary Wall Fence.

Currently , the district has no Skills Centre and this is a barrier to our youths in accessing skills bursary especially those from far wards .

As we continue to encourage any private investors to come and open Skills centers in the district . The current situation of taking our youths to other districts is not sustainable and the exporting of money (over K3 Million annually )to other districts is not sustainable and deprives us on economical growth and job for our youths . Transport cost , cost of boarding facilities and risk of exposure to bad social vices in other districts is another barrier .

Our commitment is to finance this Skill Centre through CDF , and lobby government / other stakeholders to complete and equip it and offer programs that are aligned to our ways of life such as constructions ,fishing ,agriculture, tourism and livestock .

Newly deployed teacher Maxen Fupi has started harvesting maize from his 12 hectares farm.

Next he will be harvesting Soyabeans.

Fupi is a new teacher at Shakumbila Secondary School in Mumbwa which is located about 30 kilometers away from the Lusaka-Mumbwa road.

He is part of the so-called 30 pin teachers.

When other teachers shun the village, he took the opportunity to grow maize and Soyabeans and he will be smiling all the way to the bank.

ECL REFUSES TO BLAME HH OVER MEALIE MEAL
...says people usually take advantage of the Presidential directives by pushing their own agendas.

Former President Edgar Lungu says Zambians should not entirely blame President Hakainde Hichilema over the mealie-meal crisis.

He says the President may not even know what could have caused the shortage of mealie-meal.

Dr. Lungu says the President meant well when he asked the Food Reserve Agency to export maize but the executors may have taken advantage of the Presidential directive by exporting more than what was sanctioned.

He says through his experience, people usually take advantage of the Presidential directives by pushing their own agendas.

The former Head of State says President Hichilema not even be in a position to really understand what could have transpired.

He says unscrupulous people usually take advantage of the Presidency by lying to people that they are well connected.

He says people use mare photos taken with the President to threaten people or push their own agendas.

The former President cited the example of the gold scandle in Zimbabwe where some named clergy claimed to have been connected to that country's President and was using that to make deals.

He said President Hichilema could have directed the sale of just a few maize exports but to later discover more was sold than what he sanctioned.

The former President said this during a meeting with one of his critics during his Presidency, Berdnner Changala.

Meanwhile, President Lungu advised Mr. Hichilema to be careful with the criminality that is slowly growing in his party.

And Mr. Changala said he was grateful that the former President allowed him to meet and have lunch together, despite him being critical to the former President at the time he was in power.
