Chinsali woman shot as she was going to collect children’s report book!

A 37-year-old woman from the Chinsali District died after she was shot several times by an unknown person as she was going to collect report forms for her children in the company of her friend.

According to Police Memory Nakamba mentioned the name "Joseph" before dying, as she shouted "Ba Joseph Mwanjipa meaning Joseph you've killed me" narrated her friend Gertrude Nakawala who was in her company.

Nakawala's efforts to get the attention of other community members proved futile as the victim died before she could be attended to.

In a statement, Muchinga Province Police deputy commissioner, Ronald Zambo explains that the incident that occured on Friday in Katondo village is about 3 kilometres away from the Great North Road.

Mr Zambo says Police found the body lying lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds.

He says community members handed over a 23-year-old man also named Joseph to the Police as the prime suspect and is currently detained in Police custody.

15-YEAR-OLD GIRL ARRESTED FOR CHILD DESTRUCTION.

Police in Mpika District have apprehended a 15-year-old girl on charges of child destruction.

According to the complaint filed by one of the residents , the female juvenile, allegedly gave birth to a child and dumped it in a pit latrine.

The incident took place on Thursday at an unknown time.

And Muchinga Police Deputy Commanding Officer Ronald Zambo who confirmed the development to ISOFM NEWS said Investigations have revealed that the juvenile had been pregnant since February 2023.

However, it was not until Friday, that the villagers became aware that she was no longer pregnant.

Rumors began to circulate that the juvenile had given birth and abandoned the baby in a pit latrine.

Upon receiving this distressing information, some residents conducted their own investigation and it was discovered that the juvenile had given birth and she had delivered the baby at home with the help of her mother.

The juvenile then discarded it in a pit latrine located in her uncle's maize field.

The baby was found wrapped in two chitenge materials, lifeless, in the pit latrine.

After receiving the report police opened a case, visited the crime scene , the baby has been buried and marked the grave for possible exhumation.

Further investigations have revealed that the juvenile was also a victim of defilement .

It is allegdly that Joseph Ngulube, aged 21 and a resident of the same village was behind the incident, and has been arrested on charges of defilement.

The police continue to investigate the case.

Boozing Mpika wife kills uncaring husband

A FIGHT between a drunken couple of Mpika in Muchinga province has ended in the death of the husband aged 39 and the arrest of the woman who is only 29 years old.

The couple of Chipembele Village had been out drinking at a popular local tarven last weekend night but when they got home around 19:00 hours, Dizzy Zulu somehow remembered that her husband Mathews Ndlovu had not been a caring spouse.

A quarrel erupted between the two but soon the confrontation degenerated into a physical fight and using a metallic stool, Dizzy hit her husband's head inflicting on him an injury that eventually sent him into permanent slumber.

But before his death, Ndlovu was taken to Michael Chilufya Sata Hospital where doctors tried in vein to save his life, he died in the early hours of Tuesday.

After his death, Dizzy, whose own anger and hands had turned her into a widow was arrested by police and remains in custody awaiting state approval for a lengthy stay in jail on charges of nan slaughter.

Man, 22, nabbed for abducting, defiling 14-yr-old

A 22-year-old man of Mpika, Muchinga Province, has been arrested for allegedly abducting and defiling his 15-year-old ‘girlfriend’ whom he kept in his house for three days.

Boniface Katongo, of Location Township, allegedly defiled the teenager, of the same area, on Tuesday last week after she was reported missing.

The girl was sent to buy salt at the market before she was allegedly abducted by Katongo, who asked her to follow him to his house as they were ‘friends’.

GOLD DEPOSITS DISCOVERED IN MPIKA 🇿🇲

Mpika District in Muchinga province has indicated sample of gold deposits in Kanyelele area of Mutamba ward in Mpika constituency.

Reliable sources have disclosed.

However, people are wondering as to why the Chief, the Mp and Councillors are quiet about the development.

Further, the source reported that, some selfish individuals in leadership positions wants to take things into their personal interest at the expense of ordinary community members and Zambia as a whole.

The have since called on goverment and key stakeholders to quickly move in and regulate the situation to avoid exploitation of minerals that is likely to be a game changer in job creation in the province.

With the coming of Muchinga investment expo in October this year, it is an opportunity for the province and the district in particular to yield benefits and eventually positively turn round the economy in this region of the country.

Young girl aged 16yrs old stranded in lusaka with No relatives ...

Her names are: loveness Bwalya aged 16 years of Mpika, kwamalambwa near kwakopa
According to her story, she used to stay with her mother's younger sister in Mpika, her biological mother is late.

There was a business woman who came to mpika to buy maize, she stayed there for a week and that is how she met her aunt! She Requested from her aunt if she can get someone to work for her as a maid, then her aunt told her they is someone who can be capable of working.
So when her aunt reached home 🏠, she was told she will be going to Lusaka for work, she tried to refuse but she was forced! So on Friday she was taken to the bus station and left for Lusaka at exactly 05:30 and she arrived in lusaka at 16:00, she was welcomed by the same woman who wanted a helper then she was taken direct into the restaurant to eat cause she complained she was hungry at Mandevu market restaurant.
Before she could even finish eating, the woman, stood and went outside and that is how she left her in the restaurant...
The girl thought she is coming back but surprisingly No never returned, the girl waited until 21:00 that is how the owner of the restaurant decided to take her at the nearest police station and left her there.
She stayed there for 2 days then she decided to visit the nearest church for help and that is were we mate! She explained what happened so I decided to take her home while we are looking for help....

She needs help now, anyone who can help her with transport money 💸 so that she can go back to mpika and reunite with her aunt?
The bad part is that she doesn't have any number for Any of her relatives!!!

Hubby bolts after beating wife to death

A HUSBAND of Mpika, Muchinga Province, is on the run after allegedly beating his wife to death, whom he allegedly caught committing adultery.

The man, only identified as Bashi Junior, allegedly killed his wife, Mary Ngosa, 23, on Saturday between 18:30 hours and 19:30 hours.

Ngosa was staying with her husband until she had a miscarriage, which led to her travelling to her parents’ home so that she could fully recover before joining her husband.

MPIKA GIRL STABS TO DEATH A MAN WHO WANTED TO R**E HER.

A 17-year-old juvenile has been apprehended by police in Mpika for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old man after he tried to force himself on her in unfished building yesterday Thursday evening.

Muchinga Province Commanding Police Officer, Kaunda Mubanga who confirmed the development this evening has since identified the deceased as Chewe Mwambazi.
Police say Mr Mwambazi while putting on a white dust coat wanted to r**e the girl. And in defense, the girl hit him with a bottle killing him instantly.

The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Mpika, Very Rev. Fr. Vito Chileshe Milandile, on behalf of Rt. Rev. Edwin Mwansa Mulandu, regrets to announce the passing on of Rev. Fr. Richard Kangwa. Fr. Richard died this morning around 10.45Hours at Our Lady of Lourdes, Chilonga Mission Hospital were he was admitted.

Fr. Richard was until his passing Parish Priest of St. Peter Claver, Mulanga Parish in Shiwang’andu District.

The funeral and burial arrangements of the departed priest will be communicated later in the day.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

A ZAMBEEF branch manager in Mpika is allegedly on the run after he opened the safe and stole more than K200,000.

The incident is believed to have occurred last week.

According to police sources, a report of theft by servant was recieved in which a crew man for Armaguard Mpika reported on behalf of Zambeef Mpika that money was allegedly stolen by a branch manager Chipelembe Wesley Nyirenda who is currently on the run.

"A sum of K207,829 was stolen from the Zambeef safe and strongly suspect the branch manager Chipelembe Wesley Nyirenda who is currently on the run. The scene was visited and it was established that the safe was not broken and instead alleged to have been opened using the keys," the sources said.

Police have since instituted investigations in the matter.

Earlier, the State has consented to the Autopsy for Hon. Tutwa Ngulube.

Lead Forensic State Pathologist, Dr. Luchenga Adam Mucheleng'anga will today conduct an autopsy on the remains of Hon. Tutwa Ngulube.

This follows a formal request by the family of Mr. Ngulube.
