MAN 32 THROWS SELF IN DAM AFTER MOTHER FAILS TO GIVE HIM K2

A 32 year old man of Mikomfwa township in Luanshya district has taken his own life by throwing himself in Gideon dam and drowned because his mother allegedly failed to give him a K2.

Copperbelt Police commissioner Peacewell Mweemba who confirmed to Sun FM TV, explained that the incident occurred on 3rd July ,2023 around 18 hours at Gideon Dam in Mikomfwa township.

Mr.Mweemba said the incident was reported by Christopher Kasonde ,a driver of Mikomfwa township, who explained that on his way home from Buntungwa overspill using Gideon road, he saw the deceased removing slippers, trousers,t-shirt and belt before throwing himself in the dam.

The body was retrieved from the dam by fire fighters on 4th July ,2023 around 08:3, and Elly Mutale mother to the deceased, identified her son as Samson Zulu.
She told police that her son had only asked her for a K2, which she did not have, and that was how he left home.

The Police found the body with no physical injuries and was deposited in Thompson hospital mortuary.

HICHILEMA SUSPENDS DPP SIYUNI FINALLY

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect suspended Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Lillian Siyuni Shawa.

President Hichilema has since appointed Katongo Ian Waluzimba as acting DPP for administrative purposes.

President Hichilema has acted on the recommendations contained in the report presented to him by the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC).

Presidential spokesperson Anthony Bwalya says in a statement the suspension of the DPP is in exercise of the powers vested in the President pursuant to Articles 182 (3), 144(2) and 144(3) of the Constitution of Zambia.
