Hai awesome people!

We are back! But before our new episode drops here is a throwback to Episode 11 on assumptions women have about men.

One of the assumptions most women shared with us was that, “MEN DO NOT VALUE PURITY…”

What do you think about this assumption? Share with us in the comments

Here is a response from one of our guest, Reuben Chengo.

Happy friyayyyy!🥳

It’s a known fact that the urge to keep up with everyone increases during university. In your 20s the pressure gets worserr!!

Your well-functioning iPhone 5 or Android phone suddenly feels less like a phone because everyone else seems to have a better phone, making you feel pressured to keep up with the current model.
This may not be the case for you.
But we all know that unspoken silent pressure we feel once in a while.

Here is a gentle reminder: Be content! And it’s okay to say no if you do not have money.

Contentment can never be over emphasized!
Many of us find ourselves in bad debt just because we want to show off and keep up.

Here is the catch… teach your heart to be content and to work hard!
And keep healthy friendships around you.

Ps: listen to the full conversation on all podcast platforms.

In the comments section could you share with us some tips that help you stay within your budget

HOW TO LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS…

A list like this can easily make you think adulting is a by the book kind of life.

It’s not. You need to find what works for you but be open to learn!

Navigating life as an adult can honestly feel like a bunch of unexpected trail of events thrown at you all at once.

And when it comes to money. It’s not different.
When we had this conversation on the podcast and as we shared what we are learning on money these were some tips that have worked and keep working for us.

We still have so much to learn and continue to expose ourselves to more growth.

We hope this helps.

One of the notes from this week’s episode of the podcast was the importance of educating yourself on finances.
Here is some valuable information we can all benefit from.

𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐕𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐄
Once the Lumpsum withdraw comes through, you will want to explore some investment vehicles on the market. Kindly research on them;

1. UNIT TRUSTS: These are pool of funds managed by Fund managers in Investment Companies. You can either put in part of your lumpsum then continue with monthly contributions of as low as K500 with returns ranging from 15-23%. This can help work towards a goal e.g working towards your first K100,000. Your NAPSA lumpsum can give you a head start. Go to www.seczambia.org.zm for a list of all investment companies on the market.

2. GRZ Bonds: Buying a Bond is simply you lending money to the Government and them paying you back with an interest after the agreed upon tenor. You can buy your first Bond for as low as K1,000. Bonds have Capital Preservation & Gains and also income because you’ll receive coupons (twice a year) as you wait for your money to mature. You will need a CSD Account which is very easy to open.

3. Treasury Bills: Similar to Bonds, Treasury Bills are however short term and range from 3months to 12months

4. Make a Money Placement in a Financial Institution that pays you interest monthly. That way your Capital is safe and you’re only spending off the Interest.

5. Invest in your Village Bank: Village Bank was named the top performing investment vehicle in 2021 by Bank of Zambia. It can give you upto 5-10% per month. (But remember village bank comes with high risk because it is not regulated and you will need to do your personal due diligence on the people you’re involved with). Village Bank should only be done with members you know and part of your personal circles.

6. Real Estate! It might be time to purchase your first property or piece of Land and start building your Real Estate Portfolio.
•You can choose to buy a house in a rural area, refurbish and resell (Capital Gains) or
•Buy a piece of land in an urban area at a premium and sell it off later at a higher price (capital appreciation).
•Build some shops and earn off the rental income
•Buy a piece of land (Farm) and lease it out •Purchase a small piece of outskirts of town

7. Peer-to-Peer Lending: This is a platform that allows borrowers and Investors to transact. You as the Investor goes onto the platform (online) and pick on a person you would like to lend to at the interest rate presented to you. The beauty about these platforms is, Incase the borrower defaults, the funds are insured by the peer-to-peer lending institution. Either way you get your money back. Visit Premier Credit or Lupiya websites to access these services.(These platforms are regulated by SEC)
https://premiercredit.co.zm/peer-to-peer-lending/

8. Invest in a Lucrative Business that you understand. You can invest in another business run by another person or you can start the business yourself. What ever you do, remember to only invest in a business you understand. This is your hard earned money.

I’ll end here. Please add more places we can invest our monies into.

Remember, you can withdraw ONCE only. Make it count.

Kindly Share with us 3 highlights of 2023 so far plus 1 lesson from last year

I’ll start

1. Traveling to western province to see my grandfather after more than 10 years plus seeing the rest of my family that I had not seen in a long time too
2. The awesome friendships/ relationships I have.
3. Spending time with Little humans in my life and at sunday school

2022 lesson I am holding on to: During the times you are in pain, watch what you say about yourself and your future. If you ever have to say anything, let it be the word of God.

Let’s hear yours in the comments below
