I gotta say, this is one of the most meaningful interviews I have seen about the music industry in the past 5 months..
I am currently taking a different approach in how I work in terms of the VALUE & RESPECT I put in the craft, and the amount of effort I push in the records we make to make sure they are competing "county wide" or "internationally"
Some Artists don't want to give producers any shares from the music they're working on, and the reason they give is that " music videos are expensive" which is a stupid reason to give if you ask me.
Cause in the first place, you wouldn't even have a music video without the song.
Secondly even if we talk about royalties, it ain't that easy to split shares from the YouTube platform unless you're uploading your music video through your chosen digital platform,so some of us don't even include YouTube on the splits and yet it's still a struggle.

It doesn't make sense how a producer can work with 4 different artists that are big, on songs that have over 5 million streams on all platforms and yet you as a composer don't even have a ka "Vits".
People are making money this side muma streams and they are telling you to push harder.
You gonna have "100 hit songs" na networth ya "3 kwacha" Lobe.

Personally I ain't working with anyone without splits on any record, so if you hear less of (MelarBeats On Deck) it's probably for that reason.
