A 53 YEAR OLD MAN COMMITS SU***DE AFTER MISUSING MONEY MEANT FOR FERTILIZER

By Ian Chomba

MANYINGA/ZANIS-A 53 year old Man of Kambululu Village in Senior Chief Sikufele's Chiefdom of Manyinga District has committed Su***de after being accused of misusing money meant for the purchase of fertilizer during the forthcoming 2023/2024 farming Season.

The incident is reported to have occurred on thursday 12th October,2023 around 20: 00 hours in Kambululu Village in Senior Chief Sikufele's Chiefdom.

Manyinga District Commissioner Brenda Mukwakwa has confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS stating that her office is in receipt of a Police report stating that Maxwell Masuwa aged 53 of Kambululu Village had committed su***de by consuming 100 milliliters of Lava Insecticide.

"I can confirm that a 53 year old Man from Kambululu area has committed su***de as reported by Police here in Manyinga District," She said.

The District Commissioner said that the deceased's elder brother Charles Masuwa aged 62 of the same Village reported to Police the same evening that his young brother had committed su***de after a lengthy quarrel with his wife Melody Chikamba aged 46 on suspicions that he had misused money the couple had reserved to buy fertilizer for the forthcoming Farming Season.

The DC said upon consuming the Insecticide the deceased dropped down and laid lifeless on the ground, until the body was rushed to Police where it was thoroughly checked as no foul play was detected and a police report was made before the body was rushed to Loloma Mission Hospital as a brought in dead (BID) case.

The body has since been deposited to Loloma Mission Hospital awaiting burial as no foul play was detected.

Meanwhile, the District Commissioner has advised couples and local people to desist from taking the law into their own hands by resolving their marital disputes in a civil manner.

Ms Mukwakwa further bemoaned the increased cases of Su***de in the District as there are other decent and peaceful means of resolving conflicts and marital disputes,by engaging marriage counsellors and prioritizing dialogue among couples other than engaging in physical confrontations and su***de tendencies.

"It's sad that some couples are resorting to su***de other than resolving their problems in a civil manner,"Ms.Mukwakwa said.

Sad development😭
