New World TV has issued a statement that negotiation for *TV rights with various Pay-tv* broadcasters including SuperSport TV are still ongoing, it is not entirely factual that Superport TV will not broadcast .

A leaked internal memo doing the rounds, is not an official statement.

An official statement from MultiChoice is expected soon, what was trending earlier was a leaked internal memo that was leaked to the media by a Multichoice employee.

In November, New World TV (from Togo 🇹🇬) entered a three-year deal with CAF as rights holders of 13 competitions, including:

• AFCON 2023
• AFCON 2025
• Tournaments across 46 countries.

By this, they won the rights to broadcast AFCON 2023 across sub-Saharan Africa, ahead of SuperSport.

beIN Sports won the rights to do so in the MENA region.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers in the championship game of the NBA's new In-Season Tournament at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. With the win, the team became the first-ever winners of the tournament, while James took home its first Most Valuable Player award.

Behind a masterful performance from Anthony Davis, who had 41 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks, the Lakers won the inaugural in-season tournament with a 123-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.

LeBron James, who added 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists, was named tournament MVP.

GRAMMY AWARD WINNER TEMS RELEASES HER NEW SINGLE TITLED: “ME & YOU”

Tems is back. The Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated singer/songwriter makes a return with her new song “Me & U. It was written by Tems and produced in collaboration with Guiltybeatz.

“Give me one break, I need faith / Faith to believe you / Faith to receive you / Give me something I’m lacking / I don’t need nothing / You are my everything,” Tems sings over the rhythmic R&B-infused atmosphere.

Regarding the inspiration behind her new single, Tems shares, “’Me & U’ is about discovering the real me, building a genuine relationship with the Creator, and gaining a true perception of self.”

Tems also dropped a breathtaking, self-directed video, which was filmed in Malta.

Minister of Science and Technology Felix Chipota Mutati says "Data Must Fall" should be a collective effort to attain digital transformation in the African region.

Mutati made the plea this evening during the signing in ceremony of a Diplomatic Data Corridor and Memorandum of Understanding for Government to Government between Malawi and Zambia.

On his part Malawi's minister of Information and Digitalization Moses Kumkuyu said the agreements will facilitate low data prices through interconnection as well as roaming charges in the two countries.

The Electricity Supply Cooperation of Malawi (ESCOM) and Fibrecom of Zambia are implementers of the project.

📂 The First Phase of Expansion (2024)

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia - GDP of $833.5 billion
🇦🇷 Argentina - GDP of $487.2 billion
🇦🇪 UAE - GDP of $415 billion
🇪🇬 Egypt - GDP of $404.1 billion
🇮🇷 Iran - GDP of $359.7 billion
🇪🇹 Ethiopia - GDP of $111.3 billion

The potential reason why 🇩🇿 isn't included in this 1st phase of expansion.

🔸 The first point : In this initial phase of BRICS expansion, four Islamic countries, including three Arab nations, have been accepted. Adding Algeria would result in five Muslim countries and four Arab nations, potentially raising concerns about diversity.

🔸 Secondly, Egypt and the UAE became members of the New Development Bank (NDB) in 2021. For several years prior, they had already expressed their desire to join the BRICS group. In comparison, Algeria's candidacy is relatively recent.

🔸 In terms of the economic aspect, it's worth recalling that President Tebboune had stated that in order for Algeria to "get closer to BRICS, Algeria must achieve a GDP of $200 billion." (This target is expected to be achieved and surpassed by the end of 2023.) Additionally, it's noteworthy that a country like Ethiopia, with a GDP of just over $100 billion, was also accepted. This could have been driven either by a concern for diversity and representation of an African black nation, or it's quite possible that one of the BRICS nations might have placed a "veto" against Algeria's membership, potentially India. Also the absence of other strong nations such as Indonesia, Nigeria, and Mexico from this expansion raises questions.

🔹 Personally, I remain optimistic. I see this as a natural progression, and during the upcoming BRICS summit in Russia in 2024, there will also be discussions about further expansion, BRICS+.

🔹 There's no rush to become a part of BRICS, whether it's today or in 2024/2025, as the impact won't be immediate. Algeria should continue its path towards development and maintain faith in the future.

The new interpretation of the emblem will begin arriving on Opel’s production cars as early as next year. The automaker will roll out the new logo to the rest of its portfolio over the coming years. Opel’s new lightning bolt badge – or “Blitz” in German – helps associate the brand with electricity. The automaker wants to become a fully electric brand in Europe by 2028, and it plans to have 15 electrified models in its portfolio this year, according to company CEO Florian Huettl. The first production vehicle to wear the new emblem arrives in 2024, but we’ll see a lot of the freshened badge throughout the year. We have no idea what model the new logo will adorn first.
