The University of Zambia has lost a third year law student by the name of NOAH CHOOMA. He was a well beloved student of the law and friend to many, and his passing is truly a loss.

Despite working hard for the students, he equally spent countless hours and days studying in the library.

ECHOES OF NEGLECT

It is with heavy hearts that we address the dire state of infrastructure at the University of Zambia (UNZA). Established in 1966, this esteemed institution, once a beacon of hope and knowledge, now stands as a testament to neglect and indifference.
Despite students dutifully paying maintenance fees, the campus remains plagued by poor and aging infrastructure. For decades, the university has witnessed no substantial renovations or upgrades. This neglect has culminated in a tragic loss—a student's life claimed by the very neglect that pervades these once-hallowed grounds.
This solemn event serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for action. It is a call to all stakeholders—administrators, policymakers, and the community at large—to prioritize the restoration and modernization of UNZA's infrastructure. Every student deserves a safe and conducive environment for learning, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that such tragedies are never repeated.
May the memory of the lost student serve as a catalyst for change—a catalyst that propels us towards a future where UNZA stands not as a relic of neglect, but as a symbol of resilience and progress in higher education.

UNZA MOURNS

Our hearts are heavy with sorrow upon hearing the tragic news of the loss of one of our own due to an electric shock at October hostel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the departed student during this difficult time. May they find strength and solace in each other's embrace, and may the memory of our fallen comrade live on in our hearts forever. Let us come together to support one another as we navigate through this profound loss.
