SOLDIER THREATENS TO SUE TEACHER WHO EXPOSED SON’S SUFF£RING

A Zambia Army officer whose wife was on Monday sentenced to seven years imprisonment for perpetually his four-year-old son has threatened to sue his class teacher who exposed his suffering through a video.

Justine Bwalya is unhappy that his 29-year-old wife, Longwe Ngosa, was jailed and told this reporter after the verdict that he will sue the victim’s teacher, Naomi Chisola, who was at court when the judgment was passed.

“I will sue the teacher,” Mr Bwalya said after being asked if his wife, who is the victim’s step mother, wanted to appeal against the seven-year simple imprisonment.

Earlier, Mr Bwalya refused to speak to journalists saying, “You’re the last people I would want to talk to.”

The soldier also told journalists that the video evidence in which his son was narrating how Ngosa used to inflict injur!es on him, sometimes with a kn!fe or sjamb0k, as narrated by the victim, was fake.

And one of Ngosa’s relatives, who was weeping after the verdict, described it as unfair.

“Bamufyenga [they have judged her unfairly],” a woman said while avoiding cameras.

But the family of the victim’s late mother, who included his grandfather, said they were happy with the verdict but sad that the child will never m£ntally heal from the w0unds inflicted on him.

Ngosa was found guilty of on a child, which attracts a minimum five-year jail term.

BA KMU:
I Mapalo Chime GIVE MY SELF AS A LAMB🐐

SO HELP ME LORD🙏

OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF INTEREST FOR PRESIDENT ✊🏼✊🏼

I, Mapalo Chime, a third-year Animal Science student at Kapasa Makasa University, hereby officially declare my candidacy for the position of President in the upcoming University Student Union Guild elections.

I am deeply committed to serving my fellow students and ensuring that their voices are heard and valued within our university community. My vision for the union is one of inclusivity, transparency, and proactive leadership.

With my extensive experience in leadership roles, notably as the Vice President of the Debate Society in my first year, and subsequently as the President in my second and pre-third year, I have developed the necessary skills and insights to effectively lead our student body.

Furthermore, my involvement with Team Kale Bwangu Political Party has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of student governance and the importance of advocating for the collective interests of our diverse student population.

If entrusted with the role of President, I will work tirelessly to champion the needs and concerns of our students, foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect, and spearhead initiatives that will enhance the overall student experience at Kapasa Makasa University.

I humbly ask for the support and endorsement of my fellow students as we embark on this journey together to create a stronger, more united, and student-focused university community.

Thank you.

A police officer has tragically lost his life after he was run over by the rear tyres of a Volvo truck in Kansenshi, Ndola, after he fell off a motorbike.

Copperbelt Province police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba named the officer as Chisanga Simusamba, 43, of Kawama Police Post.

Mr Mweemba said the fatal incident occurred on Friday around 13:00 hours on Kwacha road at Kwacha-Makanta junction in Kansenshi.

“Involved in the road traffic accident was a motor vehicle, Volvo truck registration numbers BCD 1294zm and BCD 1297zm, which had no damages, [being] driven by James Banda, aged 42, of house number CH2584 Chifubu in Ndola,” he said.

“Also involved was a male police officer, Chisanga Simusamba, aged 43, of Kawama Police Post in Ndola.”

Mr Mweemba said the police officer sustained head injuries and was pronounced dead at Ndola Teaching Hospital (NTH).

He said the accident happened when the Volvo truck, which was being driven from north to south – Kansenshi to town – ran over the police officer with its rear tyres.

Mr Mweemba said the body has been taken to NTH mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
