To say that the past few days have been short of amazing, would be an understatement. The quote from Marianne Williamson held true for me for so many years, "it is our light not darkness which frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant?" I honestly thought brilliance was meant for others, not me so I tried my best to dim my light, dismally so because I somehow always ended up shining, much to the chagrin of those used to walking in their brilliant light. I guess they also wondered (and some still do) "who is she to be brilliant?" But, as a recovering sommelier of self-deception, I step into my brilliance now more than ever. I do this because this is me answering the question, "who am I NOT to be brilliant?" So, when I was asked to be Master of ceremony at the @lovezambiafestival press briefing the other day, I won't lie to you, I was nervous at first but I said "yes," because with the team believing in my capabilities, it helped me answer the question once again "who am I not to be brilliant?" Plus God being God, I honestly had just met Mr @kamizachikula that morning about to be Master of ceremony for a ZRA event and I'd met him for the first time, a day before. Twice in one week!? That's surely God telling me to lean my candle to the light of this "giant in the industry" no pun (I'll tell the story soon lol) and this will surely help my own shine brilliantly. Our Visit to Parliament and Advocacy Against Excessive Gambling Adverts I am thrilled to share a highlight from our recent visit to Parliament, where we had the opportunity to witness firsthand the conduct of debates when the house is in session. It was an honour for Madam Speaker to welcome us by announcing to this August house that we were present 🎙️ As Pompi’s publicist, I had the honor of facilitating this visit as part of our campaign against excessive gambling advertisements in the country. Pompi’s passionate advocacy for regulation of these adverts aims to protect our communities from the adverse effects of gambling adverts to vulnerable people such as children or people with addictive personalities. During our visit, Pompi observed the parliamentary proceedings and later made a heartfelt plea to policymakers through a Facebook post, urging them to take decisive action on this matter. 👥 Our engagement with stakeholders and policymakers is a step towards creating a safer and healthier environment for all. We believe in the power of responsible advertising and the need for stringent regulations to curb excessive gambling promotions.
