TRANSFERS TO UNITE MARRIED COUPLES WORKING IN DIFFERENT GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS INPUBLIC SERVICE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE.

Reference is made to above subject.

Government has decided that married couples working within the Public Service, Judiciary and local Government Service, should not be separated. This is important in order to address issues of low productivity, broken families and also uphold the existing national values and principles, among others.

In view of the above, All Ministries, Provinces and Spending Agencies (MPSAs) are directed that transfers of officers in the Public service do not separate family units, henceforth.
Addressees must advise the affected officers, who are interested in re-uniting with their families, to apply for possible transfers through their respective Service Commissions or relevant authorities for consideration.

The applicants should adhere to the following conditions:

a. Submit an application for a request for transfer in accordance with the provisions of the terms and conditions of service applicable on transfers by 28th February, 2022.

b. Attach the following
I. Copy of conveyance of transfer to current workstation (where applicable)
II. Marriage certificate or evidence of marriage; and
III. Up-dated form of Vital Statistics.

c. Evidence of the occupation and workstation of spouse.
The addressees should caution applicants to desist from providing false information because doing so would make them liable to disciplinary action as provided for in the disciplinary code.

LESSON PLAN TO BE ABOLISHED - NEW PS.
WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS?

Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary - Technical Services Joel Kamoko has said that he will consult stakeholders on the abolishment of a lesson plan. Speaking shortly after being sworn in on Friday afternoon by President Hakainde Hichilema, Mr Kamoko said a lesson plan is a burden on teachers and that teachers concentrate more on paper work than lesson delivery.

"One thing I shall work with stakeholders is to ensure that a lesson plan is abolished to give room to teachers to deliver in class. Teachers concentrate more on paper work than teaching in class to avoid problems with their supervisors. We shall work on that." Mr Kamoko said.
