CROCODILE CLAIMS LIFE OF EIGHT MONTH OLD BABY

In a devastating incident, an eight-month-old baby girl named Jullie K***a was killed by a crocodile while being bathed by her mother, Velo Hansonga, along the shores of lake Kariba on August 17, 2024.

The attack occurred around 17:00 hours in Kkota Kkota ward of Gwembe district when the crocodile seized the infant from her mother's grasp.

Area Councilor Edward Gama confirmed the development. He narrates that desperate attempts to save the child failed.

Mr. Gama says a search for the baby's body began immediately and continued into the following day and was concluded on August 18 at 18:04 hours, with only partial remains of the child being recovered.

Bed 🛌 Time story:

Hello chirundu! Please withhold my ID .

Last week Friday, a group of neighbors came angry 😤 to my house accusing my (15) fifteen year old nephew of impregnating our neighbors nine (9) year old child (niece)👧.

I was bewildered of how such young children would indulge in such immortalities.

I was ashamed as I received insults from the girl’s family especially the uncle.

I couldn’t move a muscle because of shame and the most unfortunate part was when my boy was asked if anything of such happened ?

My boy with a smile that could touch his back of his neck acquiesced in his decision.

I felt wobbly as i felt a temper of panic.

"they had famished my house into surrender" but I asked for more time to think through.

The next day I asked the uncle to the young girl to at-least es**rt both the boy and the girl to the nearest health facility and seek best solution for what was before our eyes but shattered my heart because I was disappointed in my boy 👦. God knows how much I wanted my boy to succeed.

Just as I remained behind, a friend visit me who told me to really study and examine this matter as there was more to what my eyes could meet.

I shortly followed up the uncle and the relatives to the hospital as to certain the gravity of the situation and the gestation age.

Shortly after I followed behind as they went for Ultrasound scan to a-certain the baby's development, the presence of a multiple pregnancy and to help pick up any abnormalities.

Just as I arrived, the family gave me the scan results and other related results to pregnancy 🤰 of their child and ordered me to pay for all the services rendered to them by the facility and asked for transport refund as I saw a glaze in a distance as they drove off.

I had no time to read through because all I knew was that the scan wouldn’t lie.

The same evening, I received a call from the family representative who happened to be the uncles child demanding for my presence at their house next day afternoon.

I immediately lost appetite and got depressed. I couldn’t sleep but watched my nephew sleep in anguish.

Next early morning around 04:00, I went to a different health facility to atleast wish the would give me a different interpretation of the earlier hospital results.

The woman I found doing night shift thought 💭 I was one of the sick patients but was puzzled of my nature of requesting hospital investigations interpretations at an awkward hour.

She was like Dadi, mwapasa mwanawabene bimba ( dad, did you impregnate someone’s child) .

I replied in guilt, that actually it was my nephew. In doubt , she read through and explained what the results meant.

My eyes 👀 lightened as they grew wilder each time she read through .I jumped up and shouted that God is good as I hugged the sister on duty off as I ran off home.

As I arrived home, I immediately grabbed my boy by the hand and off to go to our neighbors house.

Knock knock ✊!, my neighbors came out with squint eyes 👀 as they tried to recognize who could come and disturb their night rest at an awkward time.

They rendered all sorts of insults. I was soaked in insults pouring on me but they were amazed of how unshaken I grew over night.

I said to them , “I apologize for coming like this and didn’t mean to disrespect anyone but , I haven’t slept 🛌 myself just trying to understand this whole embarrassment as such , I would be unfair if they slept warmly because there child too was part of the whole scenario.

They said let’s burry this and for all hence gave me a chair 🪑 to rest my behind.

“What are we going to do about this ?because the load is before our eyes “,so they asked?

In my reply, I said, me and my family will go with whatever the girls family bests choose to do with the seed my nephew supposedly implanted in their niece.

I asked the child, how many times she met my nephew and in her response, she said once.

I later asked how long ago and she said three weeks ago.

Later, I asked how it all happened or if the child saw anything unusual, before she could reply, the family got upset of why I was moving around than solving the issue at hand.

I replied,” we are getting their please give me chance to talk. So I read through smiling the ultrasounds scan and I noted that the gestation age for the pregnancy was actually way older than the time they met.

How could it be my nephews pregnancy when she was (2) two months 8 days old pregnant 🤰 but only met once with my nephew, which was three weeks ago 🙅‍♂️.

There was silence for the first time as everyone was puzzled.

I then asked the little one of what else she observed when she met my nephew?, and In her response she said,” when he (nephew) was on top, she noticed some whitish discharge from her private parts and it was different from the time her uncle was on top because nothing would come out each time he got off her.

As I’m writing this , the uncle is facing 15 years in prison with hard labor as I’m playing video games with my nephew.

I don’t know how God has brought back my smile and shine ✨ in a shortest period of time.

The girl is in contact with health professionals, counciling her and taking baby steps as they help her get through these hard times step by step.

We are in contact with the family just to check on how they are fairing.

Most importantly, this is a fiction story by admin 👨‍💼. Goodnight chirundu.

Wilfred Mweene wins Njame Ward Local Government bye election.

Independent Candidate Wilfred Mweene has been declared winner of the Local Government bye elections for Njame Ward in Chirundu district.

Announcing the results this morning at the Chilindi totaling center, Returning Officer Lucy Phiri declared Mr Mweene as duly elected councilor for Njame Ward at exactly 10:13 hrs.

Mr Mweene won the majority of votes totalling to 478 beating his closet rival Webster Chiyota of the ruling United Party for National Development who managed to get 379 votes.

Meanwhile the Opposition Socialist Party SP Candidate Josam Moonga came third with 166 votes.

However the official announcing of the final results was yesterday delayed due to the violence caused by some unruly UPND cadres that stormed the polling station and tampered with the ballot boxes.

The unforseen circumstances left three UPND cadres led by Shelen Chipwele locked up by the police who were manning the premises.

The three are now out on police bail .
