Training of Contractors and Suppliers about the e-Government Procurement System(e-GP) has just ended at the Luwingu Town Council.

The training was conducted by the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) in the Council Chamber with the objective of orienting local contractors and suppliers on how to tender electronically .

The e- Government Procurement System (e-GP) is an online platform that has been introduced by government to support the process of the tendering as well as procuring works and services electronically.

The accident occured this afternoon.

According to eye witnesses, the rider was trying to overtake about 4 vehicles before he was run over by the truck.

LUFWANYAMA MAN DI£S AFTER BEING STUCK ON THE WINDOW OF HIS HOUSE

A 51-year-old-man of Lufwanyama District has d!ed after being stuck on the window of his house.

Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased, on 3rd September 2023 around 17 hours, went to drink beer and came back around 24 hours and found the door to his house locked, as his children were asleep.

According to Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, the deceased after seeing that the door was locked, he decided to enter through his bedroom window but failed to go inside and later shouted for his mother who usually opened the door for him.

The commissioner, said upon hearing his voice, the children woke up and found him on the window stuck, after which they rushed to call the neighbors, who managed to remove him but found that he was already d£ad.

The matter was then reported to the police, who inspected the b0dy and found that there were no visible injur!es.

The b0dy has since been deposited at Kalulushi general hospital m0rtuary awaiting p0st-m0rtem.

PIRATE TAXI DRIVER LOSES VEHICLE IN KAFUE

A Pirate Taxi Driver has lost his vehicle in Kafue District, Lusaka Province, after it was stolen in pursuit of a passenger.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale tells Byta FM Zambia that the incident occurred on Sunday, September 3, 23 at around 03:40 hours, Kafue Police Station.

He said Police received a report of theft of motor vehicle from Alfred Mukisi, 20, a Taxi Driver of Kalundu View in Kafue who was driving a Toyota Corolla, ALP 1494, grey in colour, property of W***y Mukwayi, 40, of Shikoswe.

Mwale said brief facts are that Alfred Mukisi was pirating a taxi in the night.

He said at around 24:00hrs, he picked a male person from Shikoswe Station and told him to take him to Kafue Town at Highway Park Lodge.

Mwale said when he reached at the Lodge, the driver was told to pick the passenger after 2 hours.

He said at 03:00 hours, the driver went back to the Lodge and parked at the gate and went inside to check for the person leaving the motor vehicle well secured but the reporter could not find the customer.

Mwale said on return, the driver found that the Motor Vehicle was stolen.

He said the scene of crime was visited, and a docket of case opened.

Mwale said the vehicle is valued at K40 000.

LULANGA HAPPY WITH MUMBA AT THE JUST ENDED ELECTION IN ZIMBABWE

Southern Province Socialist Party Spokesperson Masauso Lulanga has praised Dr Nevers Mumba for conducting himself in a professional manner at the just ended 2023 General Elections in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Mumba has been criticized by the ruling ZANU PF in Zimbabwe and accused of overstepping in his role as an election observer representing SADC.

ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa accused Dr.Mumba of producing a “biased” report about the elections.

Some opposition political leaders in Zambia also criticised Dr. Mumba.

But Mr. Lulanga has thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for appointing Dr Nevers Mumba as SADC Head of Electoral Observation Mission during the just ended 2023 General Elections in Zimbabwe.

He says President Hakainde Hichilema showed good Leadership by appointing someone from opposition as SADC head of observation mission in Zimbabwe.

Mr Lulanga further brands Dr. Mumba as a presidential material who stands for the truth and justice not only in Zambia but the entire Africa.

SLEEP OVER ENDS IN TRAGIC

As boyfriend dumps girlfriend's body in Mortuary .....

Police in Lusaka have detained a 27-year-old man of Woodlands area in Lusaka in connection with the death of a 21-year-old female student at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University only identified as Chipo Lufwandika.

It is alleged that Ms Lufwandika, who was in her third year at Levy Mwanawasa Medical school under the school of public h£alth and environmental sci£nces , went to visit her boyfriend in Woodlands area at unknown date and time.

On Monday, August 27, 2023 she was taken to the University Teaching Hospitals as Brought in Dead (BID) by the said boyfriend who reported that she slipped off and hit her head on the floor at the Boarding house. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Hospital.

The parents rushed to the Hospital after they were called by one of the Nurses and confirmed the death of their daughter but did not meet with the person who took the body to the Hospital.

On August 29, 2023 at unknown time but after 18:00 hours, the said boyfriend visited the funeral house where the deceased's friends from the University rose against him demanding to be told the actual cause of the death of their friend who they believed went to his place.

It was at this time that the parents came to know that the story of slipping off the wet floor at the Boarding house was fake.

Zambia police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale has confirmed the incident in a statement and the suspect was apprehended and handed over to Police who have since instituted investigations into the matter.

CHOMA MAN AXES WIFE TO DEATH 👇👇

August 27,2023-Choma Central Police Station today August 27,2023 at about 06:45 hours recorded a case of murder which occurred between 05:00 hours and 06:45 hours at Siakacheka Village chief Maacha in Choma in which M/Esen Kanimba aged 42 of village Kanatela Chief Maacha Choma District a member of community crime prevention unit(CCPU) reported through a phone call that F/ Atrina Munsaka aged 33 a house wife of Siamalele village in chief Siachitema in Kalomo District was axed on the head by the husband Victor Sungababwa aged 43 years of Siakacheka Village Chief Maacha in Choma.The victim died instantly .
Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased was a second wife to the accused who got married in 2013, but since 2015, they have been having matrimonial disputes. The deceased then sued for divorce before Bbilili local court and hearing was coming up on September 9,2023. On August 26,2023, the deceased attempted to serve summons on the accused, but he refused. Today, August 27,2023, around 05:00 hours, the accused called the reporter to go and witness the service of the summons. During the process of the deceased serving the summons, the acccused went inside the house and came back with an axe which he was hiding on his back and the moment he reached where the deceased was he produced it and hacked the deceased in the head causing her to sustain a very deep cut in the head and she died instantly. Victor Sungababwa went into his house and drunk a chemical attempting to commit su***de but he was apprehended by the reporter. Police rushed to the scene and managed to pick up the body and deposited it at Choma General Hospital Mortuary, awaiting Postmortem. The accused is admitted to Choma General Hospital and under Police guard, but his condition is stable.

DNA proves man’s doubt on child’s paternity

A MAN was granted divorce by Matero Local Court after a DNA test proved by 99.9 percent that one of the children his wife bore was not fathered by him.
Kachala, 43, dragged Njovu, 43, to court seeking divorce after he suspected that their youngest child was not his.
The case came up for judgment on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
In his concluding remarks, Kachala said he was no longer interested in Njovu because she was impregnated by her boyfriend.
“I wish her well in her new marriage. I just pray that the court grants me custody of our children,” he said.
Njovu told the court that for 23 years their marriage was characterised by ups and downs but they managed to forgive each other.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS: A 6-year-old boy from Virginia who was non-verbal and diagnosed with autism has been found dead after going missing over the weekend.

As per tragic reports, Landon “Waldy” Raber, was found in a small pond on the property that he went missing from.

The Buckingham County Department of Emergency Services wrote in a post on Facebook:

“While this was not the outcome anyone was wanting, or expecting, we’d like to thank everyone who was involved with the search…”
