The Kawambwa district hospital principal clinic officer Mr. Kasonde Josiya has urged residents of kawambwa and the surrounding areas to continue implementing good hygienic practices in order to prevent cholera.
Speaking in an interview with Lukwanga media team today, the clinic officer stated that even if the district has not recorded any cholera cases, it does not mean that the disease cannot reach us.
Mr. Kasonde has mentioned that people move from one place to the other hence the chances of having the outbreak even in our districts are high, hence the need to intensify the preventive measures so that we can easily stop the spread of the disease.
He has also mentioned among other preventive measures, the need to always boil drinking water and washing of hands before eating any food and after using the toilet.
He has further stated that the cholera outbreak had hit Lusaka province with two areas namely Kanyama and matero constituencies.
He has since appealed to the general populace to always ensure that they stay in a clean environment.
