🌟 Lighting Up Chama South! 🌟

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for Chama South in Chief Chikwa’s area as we officially commissioned a Micro Solar Grid that will bring sustainable and reliable electricity to the community.

The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Hon. Makozo Chikote, accompanied by myself - Hon. Peter S. Phiri, Minister for Eastern Province, and Hon. Davison Mung’andu, MP for Chama South. We were also joined by the hardworking District Commissioner of Chama, His Royal Highnesses Chief Chikwa, and other senior government officials who continue to play a vital role in driving development in our region.

This transformative project, constructed in partnership with World Vision Zambia, is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration. The micro solar grid will provide clean energy to households, schools, clinics, and businesses, empowering the community and boosting economic activities.

As we step into a future powered by renewable energy, let us continue to embrace projects like these that uplift our people, promote environmental sustainability, and bridge the development gap in rural areas.

To the people of Chama South, this is your victory. Let’s use this resource responsibly and ensure its benefits are felt for generations to come. Together, we are building a brighter future for Eastern Province! 🌞💡

📸 Yesterday in Pictures: Commissioning St. Luke’s Hospital, Navutika Area – Chipata City.

It was an honor to join hands with the Roman Catholic Church, a valued partner in development, to commission St. Luke’s Hospital in the Navutika area of Chipata. This hospital stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between the Church and the Government in bringing essential health services closer to our people.

Together with the Chipata City Mayor, His Worship George Mwanza, and Auxiliary Bishop Gabriel Msipu Phiri, we marked the opening of this vital facility, which will serve as a beacon of hope and healing for our community.

Health is a cornerstone of development, and the Government remains committed to ensuring that every Zambian has access to quality healthcare. We thank the Roman Catholic Church for their steadfast dedication to uplifting lives through education, health, and social services.

Let us continue working together to create a brighter, healthier future for all.

Happy Sabath to you all our esteemed followers...

Yesterday was a remarkable day for Eastern Province as we witnessed key milestones in our development agenda!

We began the day with a courtesy call on Paramount Chief Mpezeni in Chipata, where we reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to working closely with traditional leaders to foster development in our communities.

Later, alongside Hon. Garry Nkombo, MP, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, we officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of:
✅ Modern Bus Station at Kapata
✅ Modern Markets at Saturday and Navutika

These projects symbolize the New Dawn Government's commitment to transforming the socio-economic landscape of Eastern Province. Once complete, these facilities will not only enhance trade and transportation but also create jobs and improve the quality of life for our people.

To cap off the day, We participated in an engaging interactive radio programme on Radio Breeze. We discussed various developmental projects being implemented across Eastern Province and addressed the aspirations of our people.

Let us continue to work together to build a prosperous and inclusive province. The future is bright for Eastern Province! 🌟

Yesterday, we gathered in Chipata City to honor the brave heroes who laid down their lives during World War I and II. These remarkable individuals made the ultimate sacrifice for peace and freedom, and their legacy continues to inspire us.

Joined by His Worship the Mayor of Chipata, Mr. George Mwanza, and several heads of government departments, we laid wreaths at the historic 1940 Building in a solemn tribute to these fallen heroes. As we remember their courage, let us strive to carry forward their spirit of resilience and unity in our own lives and in our service to our communities.

📢 Hon. Peter Phiri Simon (PPS) Leads Eastern Province in Celebrating Zambia's 60th Independence Anniversary in Grand Style! 🇿🇲

Yesterday, October 24, 2024, I had the distinct honor to officiate the Independence Day celebrations held at DK Stadium in Chipata City, marking Zambia’s 60th Independence Anniversary with pride and unity.

Following the celebrations, I was thrilled to join our dedicated sports community at Mfuwe International Airport grounds, where we hosted the grand finals of the Independence Tournament. This tournament, which I proudly sponsored as your Member of Parliament for Malambo Constituency, brought together exceptional talent in Women’s Soccer, Netball, and Men’s Football.

Congratulations to all participating teams! The top 8 teams in Women’s and Men’s Football, as well as the top 4 teams in Netball, received new sets of jerseys as a token of our appreciation for their hard work and team spirit. Additionally, the top 4 teams in each category were awarded monetary prizes, with the champions lifting a trophy as a symbol of their outstanding achievement.

This tournament was more than a competition - it was a celebration of unity, sportsmanship, and resilience that truly captures the spirit of our beloved country. Thank you to all the players, coaches, fans, and organizers who made this event a success. Together, we’re fostering a community that values both tradition and the power of sports to bring us together.

Here's to many more celebrations and victories for Eastern Province and Zambia! 🇿🇲
