My name is Boitumelo Nkome. I’m 16 years old , born and raised in the province of Gauteng as well as a learner at Charlton vos College of Education. As a semi-finalist of Miss Teen Grand South Africa, I’m also a firm advocate of youth and community development, as well as the founder of (my NPO) the I AM BECAUSE WE ARE FOUNDATION . I am 16 years old turning 17 on the 12th of April
I am a proud Tsonga born in Limpopo later moved to Johannesburg.
I’m an athlete, I do long distance 1,5 meters and I do cross country at school. I am currently doing my matric year at school so I will be handling both modelling and school at the same time and this has taught me time management and how important it is. Some of my hobbies are reading and playing chess.
I advocate against unemployment because i believe that we all have job opportunities around us and if not we have the ability and capability to make a needed job because sitting down and complaining does nothing to solve the situation. I think that we shouldn’t wait around for the government to make us jobs but make our own. I believe with the help of the MTGSA influence I could reach out to those who have studied and inspired them to not wait around but do the right thing. Make your own job and if we think about it, if one person makes a business then that also opens job opportunities to others

A few interesting facts about myself is that as a hobby I do swimming and my brother has down-syndrome. Using the Miss Teen-Grand platform, I would like to support charities such as the Johannesburg Children’s home, or Miracle Mission, a non-profit organisation that looks after abandoned children. I have had a passion about donating to orphanages since a young age. I started to learn about them when driving past a few on my way to school every morning, sympathizing those that dont have access to education.
