Now on The small South African town of Bredasdorp has been shaken by a series of r**es and murders of women. Femicide and violence against women reach pandemic levels in the country as a whole. Community worker Lana O’Neill runs a safe house in Bredasdorp - the only one in the whole region. Lana’s activities range widely, from picking up intoxicated women under a bridge to negotiating funding with the deputy mayor. Following Lana as she goes about her daily business, we see how a legacy of inequality, poverty and violence wreak havoc on the lives of women. The local government, meanwhile, is doing little to help Lana and we watch as the pressure of work inevitably increases on the fierce activist.

Now on In Cape Town, South Africa, one of the world's most violent and unequal societies, a young white film student sets out with his cameraman to make a “gangster film,” with real gangsters. After a lengthy search for a suitably 'cinematic' character, he finds the perfect gang and settles into their everyday rhythm. The reality soon catches up and the claustrophobic gangster life doesn’t exactly fit to the expectations.

Now on Bangla Surf Girls is an immersive documentary that takes us into the heart of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, where we witness the transformation of young girls who join a local surf club and dare to dream of escape from the threat of early childhood marriage. The documentary captures the raw emotions, the family dynamics, and the complex pressures of poverty. Balancing the freedom of the waves with the restrictive realities of their circumstances, we experience the thrill and struggle of coming-of-age in a developing country.

Today is the 100th Anniversary of Sobukwe's Life. Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe, the visionary global leader stated as early as 1960 that "There is only One race, the Human race."
In commemoration to celebrate the life of this great leader. Watch Sobukwe - A Great Soul. The story of the life of a remarkable man, who helped inspire and liberate a nation. Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe was a leading figure in South Africa's history, and the film by auteur Mickey Madoda Dube breaks the mystifying silence around his extraordinary contribution to shaping not only South Africa but also the thinking across the continent and the diaspora.

Now on The story of the former diamond-diving village of Port Nolloth in South Africa. A desert bordered by a deep cold sea. A torn landscape which hides the purest diamonds on earth deep beneath it. Digging for these diamonds with bare hands day and night, are young men on the frontier of a new diamond rush in South Africa. Hope beckons for the previously drug addicted Vianey who yearns for a better life. Nelson Mandela’s dream urges the homeless cook Patrick on into this new, hopeful future. Only George, the diamond diver, who once was a millionaire, is still hanging on to his memories of a bygone time. A poetic journey through the desert, the wind and the sand.

Now on Winner of two awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including the prestigious Prix Art et Essai, Sisters-in-Law is a fascinating, moving and often hilarious look at the work of one small courthouse in Cameroon where two woman determined to change a village are making progress that could change the world. The tough-minded state prosecutor Vera Ngassa and Court President Beatrice Ntuba are working to help women in their Muslim village find the courage to fight often-difficult cases of abuse, despite pressures from their family and their community to remain silent. We meet six-year-old Manka, who is covered in scars and has run away from an abusive aunt; Amina, who is seeking a divorce to put an end to brutal beatings by her husband; and the pre-teen Sonita, who has daringly accused her neighbor of r**e. With fierce compassion, Ngassa and Ntuba dispense wisdom, wisecracks and justice in fair measure, handing down stiff sentences to those convicted. Inspiring and uplifting, Sisters-in-Law presents a strong and positive view of African women and captures the emerging spirit of courage, and the very real possibility of change.
