Tech Girl Sam “Tech Girl” Wright is an international esports shoutcaster and gaming content creator. However, she predominantly works outside of South Africa and Africa.

Sam “Tech Girl” Wright is a recognised voice and face in global esports. She has worked as a desk host, interviewer and shoutcaster/commentator for a host of major gaming franchises. Originally from South Africa, Sam was able to carve a niche internationally in many competitive titles, however her focus is now predominantly on Counter-Strike and PUBG. In her home country she was the host of the fi

rst million rand tournament, Telkom DGL Masters, and the host of the first international global final to be held in Africa, Red Bull Kumite 2023 South Africa. Between 2022 and 2023 she worked on three global championships for three different titles namely:

The Blast TV Paris Major 2023 - the last CSGO Major. Desk Host. The PUBG Global Championship 2022 in Dubai. Stage host and interviewer. The FIFAe Nations Cup 2022 in Denmark. Interviewer. Her esports CV and list of work is long. She has travelled to more than 12 countries and featured on a multitude of events in the few years that she has focused her efforts on esports broadcasting. She is also a content creator, with a considerable following across all her social media accounts. She is active on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, YouTube and Facebook - with each channel offering something different and unique to the targeted audience. That audience is a mixture of men and women between the ages of 20 and 40 years old who have a passion for gaming and esports. Sam is also the creator, producer, editor and host of Tech Girl Talks - a podcast series focusing on the business of esports and gaming. The Podcast has been nominated for awards and regularly charts on Apple Podcasts. She’s also featured on various mainstream radio, television and magazine channels both in South Africa and abroad. She was the first and only gaming content creator to be nominated for the inaugural DSTV Content Creator Awards in 2022 and has won various other awards for the work she does in esports and gaming.

Finally got around to writing down my experience desk hosting the ESL Impact Season 5 finals which took place at IEM Dallas in late May. I like to just type out my thoughts around various events I get to work on, over on my blog. They're rather self indulgent and simply recap the competition from my perspective. The idea is that I can go back and read them to see where I can develop or change up. So it really is a bit of a Dear Diary type of post. Anyone else sick of Voice Over scripts on reels clearly written by AI? Me too. Thus the sass. Okay Star Wars Outlaws: I’m not a game reviewer. I just like playing games. And I’ve been playing this one. Not as much as I’d like but a bit. It was a little escape during a trying week. Here’s what I like: The little companion Nix reminds me of my dog Chio and I dig him. It’s so damn pretty & makes me feel like I’m in the Star Wars universe. I do love being a scoundrel. FLYING TRAILBLAZER (the space ship) OMG YES PLEASE. What I’m a bit meh about: It’s grindy & a bit monotonous with some stuff. In fact, not enough action, way too much grindy quest stuff. I’d liken it a bit to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. There’s a story but you’re spending a lot of time on sound quests.... but in Star Wars. So that’s rad. It’s an escape. It’s fun. Playing this game makes me happy. I’m nowhere near finished. This is my not a game reviewer feedback on #StarwarsOutlaws - thanks for reading!
