Join Daleen Roodt in Visser’s garden for a THREE DAY WORKSHOP exploring the beauty and complexities of orchids. You will be guided through a series of exercises and techniques that will assist you in better understanding the complex structure of an orchid, explore some drawing techniques, learn how to breathe life into your creative ideas, and be guided through watercolour techniques that will enable you to create a beautiful botanical art painting. Daleen will also look at workstation setup as well as maintaining a healthy painting posture.

There will be a selection of orchids to work from, but participants are welcome to bring their own specimens to paint and inspire.

Included in the price is a delicious light meal, as well as morning and afternoon tea and coffee.

Daleen Roodt is a self-taught botanical artist. Since starting with freelance scientific illustration in 2008, she has developed her botanical art career and now specialises in indigenous orchids of South Africa. She is passionate about painting outdoors and portraying in-situ scenes, bringing to paper her experience of the botanical pursuit, and the harmony presented by nature’s complex interactions. Her work has received both local and international acclaim.
