SEO for your website needn’t be a daunting or impossible task. You can certainly help improve your website’s organic search 🔍 rankings by applying these 5 pointers.

1. User Intent

Possibly one of the most important steps is to understand your target audience’s interests and what they are looking for when searching online. Are they looking for information or are they shopping for an item? You also want to make sure that your website can be easily found online when someone searches for your company name. Ensuring that your website is mobile friendly📱is equally important.

2. Keywords

Using the right keywords and phrases in your online content is key to show Google that your website’s content matches the search terms that your target audience is searching for. This means that you would offer the user the information or products that they are looking for.

3. Link building

Many incoming links to your website from reputable sources show that your site is trustworthy and a valuable source of information. Content marketing and PR are effective strategies to help with link building (while avoiding bad backlinks) to increase your website traffic and to be recognised as an authoritative site.

Have you ever wondered what the single key difference is between Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and paid advertising?

SEO entails a detailed process to achieve good “organic” ranking or to appear easily in online search results 🔎 This means you don’t pay to be in that space.

The concept of ranking is simple, as Google loves and prioritises content that is valuable to internet users. So, by ensuring your online content is fully ‘optimised’ and meets Google’s value criteria of expertise, authority, and trustworthiness or E-A-T as it’s known in the online world, you’re on the online FREEWAY to recognition, exposure and business results!🥇

The one question I’m often asked is advice on which I think is the best digital marketing strategy. The answer is unfortunately not straightforward.

It depends on so many factors such as your type of business, stage of business journey, objectives, budget, urgency or timing, and most importantly, your ideal audience.

The latter for me is always at the heart of any strategy 💟 having worked in communication and PR for more than two decades where people always come first.

One constant factor however is that the digital landscape continues to change at a rapid pace – and so do people’s needs and priorities.
In my view, when strategising for clients, there are short- and long-term strategies and then some trump cards for a competitive edge!🌟

The long-term strategies are mostly organic that include SEO and social media campaigns, among others. On the other hand, short-term strategies achieve fast results with mostly paid campaigns, but these need more budget than the long-term strategies.

The best strategies are however implemented according to the client’s specific needs – and never a one-size-fits-all approach.
