Prof. Amir Sagi (Department of Life Sciences, The National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev) says in order to intensify and increase yields in aquaculture, as commonly done in poultry and livestock, there is a need to grow only males or only females according to the desired husbandry. He said, "We have developed novel biotechnologies for monosex prawn aquaculture for precision aquaculture, increase yields and prevent aquaculture escapes from harming the environment through invasions.
