Writer and illustrator Nathi Ngubane is thrilled to announce his most recent book, the 'From The River To The Sea Colouring Book', which is an activity book designed to provide parents and children with an opportunity to learn about Palestinian history and popular figures of Palestine.
Ngubane grew up in Chesterville, a small township in Durban, KZN and was born with a condition called Microphthalmia, which refers to the underdevelopment of the eye. As a result, he is visually impaired. However, he has always been passionate about art and writing.
After earning a diploma in Graphic Design from The Durban University of Technology, he landed his first freelance job as a political cartoonist for The Daily Vox in 2013. Later on, in 2015, he received an offer from The Citizen News to work as a political cartoonist.
Ngubane’s first children's book, titled ‘Duma Says: Wash your hands, wear a mask!’ was published in 2020. It was followed by ‘Duma Says: Let's Live!’, a collector's edition featuring two more stories in the series. In August 2021, Nathi released his latest book in the series titled ‘Duma Says: Your ABCs to Good Health.’ His work has been featured on Al Jazeera, BBC, Daily Maverick, New Frame and other platforms.
