A day so deeply etched into my soul, making me look at this Mother’s Day a little differently. Mother’s Day is not all about a gift, (we do love a gift though) but it’s about the appreciation of mothers and those who play a mother role in our lives. For me, 2 years ago today, I nearly lost my son to RSV, I resuscitated him at home and experienced the ER for the first time, (little did I know at this point, I would be back here 3 more times). It is not something I like to speak about, I am still very traumatised by the experience, but the nurses, doctors and sisters that were at our side played such a vital role in both of our wellbeing during this time.
So today, I want to share my love to anyone who has lost a mom, a child, to the woman praying to become mom, the step moms, the guardians, the grandparents, the sisters, nurses and doctors and everyone else in between.
You should be celebrated every day, but my wish is that today, you were celebrated a little extra.
