The death of Manche Masemola is an indelible historical moment and a source of inspiration for women and young people in today's world filled with challenges. This according to some pilgrims, who attended the commemoration ceremony of Masemola's death at Ga- Marishane village near Jane Furse in Limpopo. The teenager was killed by her parents for converting to Christianity in 1928.
The Anglican church declared Masemola a martyr a few years after her death. Her stature was unveiled in 1998 at the Westminster Abbey, an Anglican church, in London. Some women say Masemola's death is a source of encouragement for them. "As young as Manche was she is a big inspiration to the youth because she never let little things come between her and her spirituality. She never let anything come between her and the love of God that she had. So to us this simply says we should know that whatever situation we are facing we should run straight to God and give him chance to intervene in our lives ... The story of Manche Masemola has become great motivation for me to have faith and that as an individual you must not only have faith but to stand firm in what you believe in, even though many challenges may try to disrupt you".

So we ask ourselves how this woman can kill the community so we are so disappointed. But if we can put our hands together this we can overcome it. Nyaope has destroyed our nation. Nyaope has destroyed our brothers, our sisters. We are very, very hurt because of this influence of Nyaope in our village. As I am speaking so it is with a heavy heart as a have a brother who is an addict. But I think together we can as we are now have this campaign of sweeping drugs out of our village".

The ANC in Limpopo has reiterated that there are no grounds for its provincial deputy chairperson, Florence Radzilani, to step aside as she faces no criminal charges.
Radzilani is among many implicated by convicted former VBS chairperson, Tshifhiwa Matodzi, for allegedly receiving gratuity from VBS Mutual Bank.
Matodzi has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for VBS-related charges. The Vhembe District Municipality is one of several municipalities that invested in the bank.
In his affidavit, Matodzi claims there were demands for gratuity on behalf of then Vhembe mayor, and current ANC provincial deputy chairperson, Florence Radzilani.
The ANC in the province, however, came out guns blazing, stating there was no evidence that the money ever reached Radzilani.

The ANC's Limpopo spokesperson Jimmy Machaka says one of the items to be discussed in their provincial executive committee meeting today is the VBS saga. This follows the publishing of the plea agreement affidavit by convicted former VBS chairperson, Tshifhiwa Matodzi. ANC members, Florence Radzilani and Danny Msiza are implicated in the affidavit for allegedly receiving funds irregularly from the Bank. Machaka says while the affidavit implicates some of the ANC leaders in the province, law enforcement agencies have not charged them criminally: "We have also noted that various former and current leaders of the ANC are mentioned in the affidavit which was part of the plea bargaining and off course as an organization we are very disappointed because throughout we were made to believe that this matter of VBS has reached finality as far as it relates to various leaders of the ANC off course the ANC will digest this matter because in any event there is nothing new from that matter we have always known that certain leaders have been mentioned but there has not been any work on the part of law enforcement agency on charging them criminally."

In the affidavit, Matodzi states that an initial donation of five million rand was made to a company owned by EFF deputy president, Floyd Shivambu's brother, Brian. The donation followed a meeting between, Shivambu, party leader Julius Malema and secretary Marshal Dlamini in April 2017.
