Our Story
Started in 1981 as a Music & Mobile DJ service called Mobi-Disk, this small business quickly made a good name for itself by offering great service and good pricing with sustained reliability, and as such really enjoyed repeat business
By the mid 90's Mobi-Disk regularly entertained thousands of happy people at weddings, music and dance festivals, corporate functions and private events across South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Botswana and Zambia.
Having focused on corporate events and at specific function venues as well as in mid- to upper- end of the market, Mobi- Disk became absorbed into the Platinum Gold operations in 2014, which allowed a larger footprint due to it becoming part of an Events business with rentals of event furniture, additional large-venue sound equipment, MCs, Photo & Video production etc...Additional DJs, Bands and Guest Speakers entered into the mix and today Platinum Gold offers a wide range of event services catering for numerous aspects of each occasion.
A natural development of this exciting company has been the introduction of Private Radio, started in 2014 as an in-house solution for companies wishing to portray a professional audio environment using our Voice-over artists and DJs, all done in house in Platinum Gold's Ekurhuleni Studios.
