Police killer sentenced to 20 years direct imprisonment.

The Mpumalanga Division of the High Court has sentenced Zanele Mkhonto(30), to 20 years direct imprisonment for the murder of a police officer, Sergeant Mandlenkosi Happy Thwala (47), who was stationed at Ka Bokweni police station.

This is after Mkhonto pleaded guilty in November 2023, and was subsequently convicted of murder. She told the court that she was in a romantic relationship with the deceased and were residing together from January -July 2022 in Gedlembane, Pienaar. After realising that their relationship was volatile she left to her parental home.

Missing Njabulo found dead

Njabulo Lekhuleni who went missing on Saturday was found dead in the early hours of this morning.

His body was found under a bridge at Mathyznsloop, near Kwaggafontein in Mpumalanga.

The cause of death is not yet known.

Meanwhile the family has expressed disappointment in the law enforcement officials after “they did nothing“ when a case of a missing person was opened.

Lekhuleni family has since thanked everyone who helped to look for him.

19-year-old arrested for fatally stabbing her brother during heated argument

A shocking incident unfolded in Homu section, Giyani, Limpopo, as a 19-year-old female suspect was arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of her 27-year-old brother. The tragic event occurred on Saturday and has left the community in disbelief.

According to reports, the suspect voluntarily went to the local police station to confess to the crime.

She claimed that she had stabbed her brother with a sharp object during an altercation. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately launched an investigation.

More than 1 000 drivers arrested on the roads during Easter holidays

More than a thousand motorists were arrested over the Easter holidays including drunk drivers, Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has confirmed. Other offences were driving without valid driver's licences, reckless driving, operating on the roads without driving permits and overloading goods and passengers.

Thohoyandou Police are searching for a man who killed his 45-year-old wife during a church service sermon in Makonde Shadani village.

The suspect entered the church and shot the victim multiple times, causing her death. He fled in a silver-grey Toyota Corolla after the incident.
